Re: Mom of 4 month old, bummed, low compliance, need "therapist"

Thanks. What about surgery? Given what I said, should I try that option at this point, and if it doesn't work, go back to trying this? No matter what, I'm sure the surgery will wear off and I'll be back to cpap, but maybe it'll be at a time in my life when I"m better at falling asleep with it. I thi...

Tailoring sleep position to keep it on, annoying. Solutions?

In writing my long post earlier....I realized the main problem I experience is that to fall asleep, (without CPAP), I like to somehow be touching my husband (spooning, or one hand on his arm or leg, etc)....then, about 30 minutes into that, I will roll over onto my tummy, or my side, or alternate be...

Re: So Upset about the Cpap

I just posted about being a Mom of a 4 month old, and even before baby.....realllllly struggling to adapt. Anyone have advice for me? I feel like I could have written this post. Some of the replies on the previous page were helpful to me. Someone said that if you look back, adapting to CPAP is not t...

Mom of 4 month old, bummed, low compliance, need "therapist"

I am in need of some advice here. I don't even know what my "question" is, but I can't figure out how to treat my apnea. I hate my cpap, I am dealing with a baby, and we want to have more, but it breaks my heart that my CPAP machine and the drama surrounding it is actually making me dread having mor...

Do surgeries to treat mild/mod apnea work? Results/stories?

Hi all. I am a normal weight female, 28 years old, who does have chronic fatigue, so that's why I had the sleep study to begin with. I did used to snore, even as a child. I actually do think I have some kind of genetic disposition to snoring and maybe thus a genetic structural issue? My Dad is norma...

Sore throat, will CPAP hold germs?

Hello. I haven't posted in awhile. Will keep it brief because it's late! I have some kind of virus, and hubby has it too. Sore throat, cough, fever in beginning, but I've avoided the congestion. Mainly for me it's a sore throat that is still sore. I seem to have a weak immune system (have chronic fa...

Re: Get the flu shot, not the flu

I had an extreme reaction to the last vaccine I got, which was the DPT (diptheria, pertussis, tetanus). I have no clue what happened, but I could feel something strange coming over me about 15-20 minutes after the vaccine, and I was really "sick" (I put sick in quotes because it was obviously not an...

Re: CPAP Works!

Congrats! Has anyone's experience been that less sleepiness/feeling better happens verrrrrrry slowly, so slowly you barely notice it, until you look back at what you were doing a month ago? I have been using CPAP about 3 months, and that has been my experience. I am slooooowly regaining some energy....

Re: How do I get my S9 Autoset into CPAP mode?

Is it labelled as something other than "CPAP mode?" Maybe that's why I'm missing it?

Grrrrr.....

Re: Problems with pressure relief/timing of breathin? S9 Autoset

Thank you for the tips.

So....with APAP.....EPR is working, right? I just can't adjust the EPR? (OR, is EPR not even on, and if my bottom pressure is 6, is it just blowing 6 constantly?)

Sorry if that's a dumb question.

Re: Problems with pressure relief/timing of breathin? S9 Autoset

Also, tonight I am going to try the machine in CPAP mode to see if that solves the problem. Is it the fact that this is in APAP, so it's thinking too much, hence the delay?

Sorry so many questions....just sharing my line of thought. Any thoughts/comments are welcome.

Problems with pressure relief/timing of breathin? S9 Autoset

So last night was my first night on my S9 Autoset, and the Phillips Respironics System One "Plus" CPAP with C-Flex is gone. Last night was my first time on an APAP machine (as opposed to CPAP), and first time using a Resmed machine vs. the PR1 machine. Just to clarify, I switched because my old mach...
