Re: S9 Autoset: "Settings Reset to Default Values. Please Contact Service Provider."
Just a thought, but my S9 did the same thing when the flash card died.

Re: New Initiative from American Sleep Apnea Association
I haven't been around in a while so there may be more than I know about this but it seems to me like they are at least trying and making an effort to do good for CPAP users. That should be worth something. Maybe not, but if we are always skeptical and negative, we miss the good things that come arou...

Re: OT: Time out and/or Duke it out thread
While, it would be wonderful if this would work, boy I have hung around this site for years and seen many pleas for respect and courtesy, but the same crap continues. Still, I have shared this site with many people because the good the people on this site do in helping them with xPAP far outweighs t...

Wow, I get back on after a good vacation from this forum and the first I see is this thread. Think I'll go back on vacation for another while.

Re: Homegrown battery packs for a Resmed S9
Well, I wish battery companies would tell the truth, but a 12V 26Ah battery would be about the size of a large motorcycle battery, so we can rule out honesty with this battery company. Yes, all lithium battery companies post mAh, but the more honest companies also post Watt hours. As CapnLoki wrote,...

Plastic smoky smell
For awhile I have been smelling a chemical plastic type smell that increased to a icky smoky smell. I though it was the machine so I tried my backup machine and the smell was less, but it was still there. I finally figured it out. I keep the machine in a drawer by my bed. Open of course at night, bu...

Re: can you prove where you were at 1 am a month ago Tuesday?
Yes, wulfman, Thanks to your suggestion I was able to prove that it wasn't me. I wasn't sure the court would allow it into evidence, but they did. Yes, my dog does snore a lot, but I haven't taken her for a sleep study yet, so I wouldn't know what pressure to use. Also, the mask leaks would be hard ...

can you prove where you were at 1 am a month ago Tuesday?
Answer YES! I was accused earlier this year of being somewhere I wasn't and doing something I didn't do. As ridiculous as it was, and even though there was no evidence except two questionable witnesses, it was actually pursued and I ended up in court Den (wolfman) in one of his posts years ago had m...

Re: New and Excited -- Seeking Pre-purchase Advice?
Good luck with it. I still remember the feeling leaving the sleep study more awake and alive then i felt in years. Don't be surprised though if when you get your machine you don't get that wonderful feeling right away. There will be leaks, rainout, and all sorts of annoying issues to work through, p...

Re: ...And which is your present mask?
I did find the easylife mask was ok, this was after trying 4 other respironics masks. I suspect respironics masks may have been the standard at some point in time, but they got left behind. Maybe the have good masks but the ones I was given originally we're really bad Now I use the air fit resmed or...

Re: New DME
DME got me on that once. I brought in my machine and he wiped my settings and history.
He said it needed cleaning, which required new filters ( I had replaced them that morning).
Just be very careful when dealing with them. I certainly would never give them access to the flash card.

Re: backup machine, does everyone have one?
After my machine accidentally drank some coffee and I was up the whole night, I got a backup from our hosts. Now I use the Intellipap whenever it is stormy since it will automatically switch to battery if we loose power.

Wouldn't take even a nap without it. (Not that I could actually get to sleep without it.) Keep a spare machine and mask in the car for the occasional noon nap.

Re: Changed masks 5 times
It sounds like the Swift FX is working for you, that's great. Finding a mask is one of the hardest parts of this whole cpap thing. If it were me I would ask my DME what my leak rate was? I would ask him to show me my graphs of leaks, pressure, Flow limitations and events, and explain to you what the...

Re: Why do I want a new APAP?
Why not. A backup machine is a necessity. You never know when something will spill on your machine and kill it. (like a cup of coffee ). It is also true that once you have a backup you won't need it. I keep a PRS1 in the car just in case I'm stranded somewhere for the night. The Intellipap? well, it...
