Re: Intellipap , clearing rainout gurgling noise
The gurgling in my hose is terrible. The rainout is bad too. I have to have quite a bit of humidity because of all my sinus surgeries. We keep our room super cold, so it just seriously condensates. The machine is on the floor and hose draped over the headboard. I take the hose off and shake out the ...

Re: Itchy nose with CPAP
I am goin nuts with the itching. I don't itch with the sleepweaver, but it keeps leaking around my eyes. When I use a nasal mask for full face mask, my nose is horribly itchy. And I have terrible rainout. I need the moisture because I've had two sinus surgeries that have left me with a problem deali...

Re: New to Intellipap
I think I'd just try the other mask if you want, add the water to the humidifier and hook up the module - unless the mask you have is comfortable enough and you don't experience much in the way of leaking or discomfort. You won't know much more details until you hook the module up. If you have it, j...

Re: itchy face!!!
I was plagued w/ itchiness - and - I can't tolerate nasal pillow masks because of my repeated sinus surgeries. I just switched to a sleepweaver 3 weeks ago and can wear it all night long w/ no itchiness. I think for me, the plastic holds in moisture and I need quite a bit of humidity because of my s...

Re: New to Intellipap
I've never bothered w/ the screen but just typed in the smart code so I could see more data. But the smart module is even better.

Re: explanation of Devilbiss SmartLink Graphs
Thanks - I guess I'm being a bit dense - I don't understand what you mean by AHI score though. I do see what you mean by the graph showing peaks - normally, my ahi line is pretty flat - this night was just difficult - I actually had to turn the machine off and on to get it to back off the pressure b...

Re: explanation of Devilbiss SmartLink Graphs
Thanks to all - yes, my average AHI is usually 4 or under. So, in regards to the leak rate - you're saying that basically if it stays under 95 L/min (peaks - red line?) that it's ok? I've worried that the sleepweaver leaks too much, I get a little air around my eyes or at the bottom near my chin (it...

explanation of Devilbiss SmartLink Graphs
I am having trouble understanding the scales on the graphs for the SmartLink Software: AHI - what is the vertical scale measuring? It says Length of AHI - but for hyponeas (that's most of my issues) they begin to be measured at 10 seconds. http://chswebmaster.com/data/ahi.jpg Pressure - I understand...

Re: Free Resmed Swift FX and Pap Cap
I second the suggestion for a sleep weaver. I've tried 5 different masks and failed them all, 2 nasal masks, 2 different nasal pillow masks and a hybrid. Absolutely miserable. But the sleep weaver was so different.

Re: sleepweaver mask
I had my second night - was able to wear it all night. Seriously, this is like a mini-miracle. I have 6 other masks that I've tried and failed. Thankfully, I was able to buy them all used so it's not like $600 worth of masks, but it's been so difficult.

Re: sleepweaver mask
I am a bit worried about the durability - the stitching of the inside membrane looks strained, but I seriously cannot believe how much more comfortable it is. I felt no claustrophobia w/ it. The only other issue (I'm self pay so having to buy a $100 mask frequently is worrisome) is that it won't las...

Re: heavy head sweats and tachycardia now...
I was having nasty periods of tachycardia - I ended up having periodic Ventricular tachycardia and was on a beta blocker for a while. It was found while wearing a monitor for a month. It resolved, came off the beta blocker but still had periodic palpitations / tachycardia. Found out my b12 was super...

sleepweaver mask
Just spent my first night w/ it - after a year of trying on and off and failing w/ every mask I tried, I finally was able to wear this new mask all night. I had some leak issues and hypopneas that I think are associated w/ it. But, it was super comfortable - I could sleep on my side and mush it and ...

I pmed you about the optilife - I then would just have to buy the correct cradle size - I've wanted to try it since I can't tolerate nasal pillows.

Re: OT: Cancer and the incredible sweet potato
I loathed sweet potatoes until I tried spicy sweet potato fries. I use a little oil with a few tbs brown sugar, then cayenne pepper, salt and garlic powder to taste. I line a baking pan with foil and then roast them off. The brown sugar caramelized and adds a bit crunch. There's not much oil (I use ...
