Re: Weight Loss and CPAP - looking for success stories

There are some threads here with lots of information on best sources of those calories. A lot of us having been trying variations of low carb and paleo eating styles. (i refuse to use the D word). Since Cpap I haven't lost much BUT I haven't gained either which I was doing consistently for the 3 -4...

Re: Weight Loss and CPAP - looking for success stories

I think, for me, taking more of an interest in my weight is the result of taking ownership of my own CPAP therapy. In a short time (thanks to the fine folks here!), I became somewhat knowledgeable (is that word supposed to have an e before the a?!?!) about my own therapy and how to not just be passi...

Re: Weight Loss and CPAP - looking for success stories

70 pounds? Wow. That's fantastic. I'm looking for only about 75 in 9 months. And I really don't care if I get off the hose. I'd like to, but that's not why I'm sucking weight.

Re: Weight Loss and CPAP - looking for success stories

That's awesome, DD! I've lost almost 12lbs in the last 16 days. Only 18 more by the end of May, 38 more by the end of July, and 65 on 1/1. Of course, I think I'm coming down with something today. Leaving work early. I feel miserable. And I think I got a hairline fracture on my left foot running on M...

Weight Loss and CPAP - looking for success stories

Okay, I am not here to debate which came first, the weight or the OSA. What I am looking for are success stories. I've been on CPAP now for 9 months this week and have been doing well on therapy. It's only when I'm not feeling well that I take after-dinner naps nowadays. And I no longer sleep till n...

Re: ResScan Download Question

You know that one of those nearly-free USB SDcard readers will work just fine, right? You don't need to use the ResMed one. I use the built-in ones in my desktop and notebook computers, but I tested one that came free when I bought an SDcard and it worked perfectly. You can copy your .rlk files int...

ResScan Download Question

Hey, gang. Using ResScan 3.10 and don't have a card reader (it's in storage). Any idea if or how I might be able to read from an external/portable hard drive? I've got all my data saved on it. It's been 6 months since I last downloaded (started therapy in June) in September and I'd like to see how I...

Re: Battery Backup Design

Oh, I'm not questioning the cba, John. And yes, it IS worth it. Just tough to swing that kind of money around Christmas and "property tax season.". We don't escrow. (Why should someone else make a buck off me like that? Especially banks?)

Worst leak night yet. 16.8l/m. Decent night of sleep, despite the coughing and cold.

Re: Battery Backup Design

John, that's a fantastic design and very thorough write-up. Being an engineer (industrial and systems), I know that a great design with horrible documentation can break a project just as easily as horrible conceptualization. I love the safety measures you've included as well (the safety factors and ...

Re: Any S9 Battery Packs Yet

Yeah, I had thought the UPS option. Problem is that it's not just short periods without power or power spikes. Over the summer, we had 1 night (after I procured my CPAP machine) when I went without it for about 4 hours due to blackout. I don't believe a simple consumer-market UPS will sustain me for...

Any S9 Battery Packs Yet

Hey, gang. Just checked CPAP.com and I don't see what I need, but is anyone aware of any S9 battery packs (even for use without the H5i) available yet or soon?

Thanks!
Roman.

Power went out - chuckling about it now

We had a power outtage for a few seconds or so on Friday morning last week. I had no idea until I woke up to no pressure on my machine. Of course, when I did wake up, it was already back on, so I hit the power button again and awake we went! Just kinda freaky (after all, all of our digital clocks ha...
