Re: S11 vs S10
I'm an 11 hater here... lots of different reasons... more keep popping up as time goes on. Love both my 10's, taken them apart, cleaned/repaired/rejuvenated my old one, served me a good 22,000 hours and now with a new motor it's good for another 22khours. Any good guides on this? ~10 years ago I ha...

Re: S11 vs S10
I just replaced my AutoSet 10 from March 2015 with another AutoSet 10 yesterday. It took some time to find one, everyone wanted to give me an 11. Why did I want the 10? Mainly because I have DC-DC adapter for the 10 I use camping, and I have other travel batteries that would need adapters to use the...

DME provided new machine with no water chamber?
DME dropped off a new CPAP machine, AirSense 10 AutoSet "Respond" model. I was surprised it came with no water chamber, they said insurance only covers water chamber every 6 months and since I received one a couple months ago, they couldn't give me one because they couldn't bill insurance for it :) ...

Re: Airplane battery: Freedom V2 vs Medistrom opinions?
I confirmed via email with cpaphero that the Freedom V2 it is NOT a 24v regulated supply, so I went with the medistrom whose support team says it is. I'm guessing thats why medistrom sells separate 12V and 24V models. I'll check with my multimeter once I get it! The freedom v2 seems no different tha...

Re: Airplane battery: Freedom V2 vs Medistrom opinions?
The Freedom V2 battery might not be a regulated 24V output either, which is the same issue as the TalentCell. Quote from manual: Battery Starts Then Stops Working If the battery starts powering your device and then shuts down, try to reset the internal circuitry (see page 5). If the battery continue...

Re: Airplane battery: Freedom V2 vs Medistrom opinions?
Hmm, I wonder if Medistrom is still in business - I noticed their website disappeared: http://medistrom.com/ Freedom v2 seems made by an outfit "cpaphero": https://cpaphero.com/freedom-v2-battery/ EDIT : I was able to call Medistrom and get a hold of someone, seems their website is down as is their ...

Airplane battery: Freedom V2 vs Medistrom opinions?
Twice in the coming months I'll need to use CPAP on an international overnight flight, something I've never done before. I have an AirSense AutoSet 10. Both planes claim to have an outlet at the seat, but reading fine print it explicitly states on two different airlines that I need to use a battery ...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I just read this article on CNN about Philips' cpap recall settlement: https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/08/business/philips-cpap-recall-settlement/index.html Is this quote about "at least" 385 deaths correct? This is shocking to me. I'm a ResMed user so I haven't been paying close attention. The FDA rece...

What size is my Airfit N20 "Mask Assembly Kit" ?
I have an Airfit N20 and would like to order a replacement "Mask Assembly Kit" but I'm not sure how to tell what size it is. I see no markings anywhere with a size. I do have a Medium size cushion - probably an indication everything is size medium, but I believe at one point DME tried a large "Mask ...

Details of what Mt. Siani is doing to use Tesla donation as ventilators: https://lnkd.in/ed9HqpK Article I found link in: https://cleantechnica.com/2020/04/03/mount-sinai-hospital-receives-ventilators-from-tesla/ Says it requires Resmed VPAP ST (or alternative bi-level machine). Interestingly, it ta...

Re: Concern Over Sleep Apnea and Coronavirus Transmission
The takeaway I got was that if the CPAP user is infected, the exhalation port on the CPAP mask is how viruses are spread throughout the household (return ducts, etc)... https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/03/27/822211604/cpap-machines-were-seen-as-ventilator-alternatives-but-could-spread-...

Doesn't use any CPAP parts, but an open source ventilator design:

Re: Converting CPAPs into ventilators
Here is one such project to use a CPAP with additional hardware/sensors to make a DIY ventilator: https://github.com/jcl5m1/ventilator Saw it mentioned in this article: https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/5dm4mb/people-are-trying-to-make-diy-ventilators-to-meet-coronavirus-demand I would say only fea...
