Terry,
Re "calibration:" When you get the unit, put it on someone else to make sure you get some readings in the high range you seek.

Re: Low Pulse Ox During The Day While Awake???!!
Blusaber,
The CMS50F is the wristwatch with a rubber sensor on your finger. From what I can tell, the CMS50E computer is packaged as a "cigarette pack." I'm not sure which is more reliable or accurate, but I like the wristwatch idea because there are no wires to wrestle with at night.

Re: Low Pulse Ox During The Day While Awake???!!
Madalot (why are you mad a lot? ) You should add the CMS50F to your profile! I like that unit a lot. Also reasonably priced, very functional (once you interpret the Chinglish) and easy to wear overnight. Mine seems a little off. It wasn't glaring, but didn't quite jive with my doc's. I'm waiting for...

Re: Low Pulse Ox During The Day While Awake???!!
Good news: You could have had an unusual night. Bad news: The ones you rent are usually calibrated. There are no screws to adjust, as Jim (jokingly) implied. I did notice, though, that the home units are not always reliable. They can't be adjusted, but you can get a feel for their accuracy by taking...

Dave,
There are several thoughtful topics on this site discussing OSA and surgery that should be relevant.
Good luck with your surgery,

Re: Used Oximeter Last Night.... question
PS The definition of "events" is set by the company, but can be changed by the user (in the tool kit icon on the lower left). Also note the little grey bar at the end of each of your graphs. That's the time the unit was recording without receiving any data (you had taken the sensor off). In my case,...

Another hint:
The little vertical dashes below each graph indicate when an "event" occurred.

Re: Best Oximeter?
Having studied the data from an inexpensive (but respectable) unit and projecting what a professional model may be able to do, I have come to the conclusion that an oximeter is only useful when considered along with other data, including a sleep study or (at minimum) a home sleep study. This may sou...

What is it with all the cat pictures? I'm starting to think there's a distinct correlation between cat lovers and OSA. I guess I'm an exception.

Elena,
Maybe you could gain some additional insight into your somewhat frustrating journey if you post some of your CPAP results.
PS Do you know where you got your SpO2 software? You seem to have a newer version than mine.

Recording pulse oximeters - reliable and predictable?
I wonder about the level of reliability for recording pulse oximeters. Most O2 readings are taken in docs offices without recording and seem to be reliable. The problem comes in when you try to use them to correlate to overnight breathing events. Sleep study interpreters seem to accept the readings ...

My holistic guru said that exercising on the Australian didgeridoo helps aepnea. There may actually be something to it, though I never tried it.
