Re: Machines

APAP is an Automatically pressure titrating PAP, that can be set to either CPAP mode or AUTO mode. CPAP only operates at the set pressure. Bi-Level is another type entirely, that has two different pressure setting for inhalation and exhalation. Generally used if you require high pressures. XPAP is j...

Re: DME Funny

Good for you! Glad to see the DME system still works for someone! {Thread Hijack mode ON?} The jury is still out on my Doc, the DME I'm already irritated at 1-1/2 months into CPAP therapy. My DME stuck me with a non-data capable Respironics PR System One "Plus" rather than the "Pro" or "Auto" models...

Re: S9 SpO2 module - can anyone ask their rep what one ?

The Resmed Apnealink brochure also shows a picture of a "Nonin Medical Model 3012 Xpod" on page 4. But you already knew that - this is just confirmation of the earlier thread. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t50758/ResMed-S9-Oximeter-or-USB-adapters.html But Nonin prices don't really look any bett...

Re: Help re-titration

According to the specs, S9 and the PR System 1 Pro, Plus, and Auto operate over 4-20 cm-h2o. At least according to cpap dot com. I think to get to 24 cm you'll have to look at the bi-level machines. I don't think Resmed has released a bi-level version of the S9 yet. I'm a noobie, but I can't see any...

Re: Battery Backup Design

The Resmed H5i, that goes with the new S9s, is DC powered. What does this mean in terms of the need to use a full sine wave inverter/UPS? I suspect it just means the marketing guys that write the battery FAQ haven't asked the S9 R&D guys about it. I also suspect the pure sine wave requirement came ...

Re: ResMed S9 with a battery?

I asked Resmed about battery operation of the S9, since the S9 isn't listed in their battery applications document. And actually got an answer. "You can use the same criteria as the S8s. That is for use WITH the humidifier, you need a pure-sine wave inverter 300 watts or higher. If used without the ...

Re: new dude

So how hard is it for a patient to get a hold of the Encore Pro 2 software which will supposedly work now with the PR Remstar System One Pro? Seeing as how I already have access to the setup menu, it ain't like the viewer software would prevent me from changing the "prescribed" pressure if I wanted ...

Re: I got outfitted this afternoon!

I'm almost in the same boat. I just picked up my first machine, a Respironics REMstar Plus C-Flex w/humidifier (DS250HS). It had an SD card, and the R. tech said it provided AHI, leak data etc. But in doing a little research this afternoon I discovered that it only provides compliance (usage hours t...

Re: S9 Data Card Capacity

Does the S9 SD Card work with a standard PC SD card reader, or is it necessary to buy the special ResMed version?
