Re: Poll: Another S8 vs. S9 question costing vs. features
I had the S8 and liked it a lot but was having trouble with rainout. My DME ended up switching it to an S9 for me (I think because I kept asking them questions about heated hoses and what length I could use etc. and they felt bad for me). The main advantage that I see is that with the heated hose I ...

Exhaust valve waking up spouse
What's the best way to deal with the air from the exhaust valve blowing on my husband and waking him up? I'm using the Swift LT for Her, but is there another mask (nose pillows or nasal) that is better for this? He said that my air was leaking last night and blowing on him and making a noise and wak...

Re: How can I fire my DME?
Don't know where in NC you are, but see if Active Healthcare will take your insurance. I've been very happy with them. I had to find a new DME after my first one refused to give me the machine I wanted. I ended up calling other DMEs that I found on the internet because my insurance company gave me a...

Re: Help - S9 SD card stopped recording data
Thanks all! I asked my husband if we had an extra SD card that I could use instead of the Resmed card and he said that he would look for one but that I should put the SD card back in my computer and see if it worked or was corrupt. So I did that and the computer said that it was unformatted and did ...

Help - S9 SD card stopped recording data
I've taken my SD card out of my S9 a couple times so far, downloaded the data and put it back in the S9 with no trouble. But a couple days ago I did that and now it doesn't record any data. For two nights it just has a dash for the AHI and doesn't give a number for the hours of usage. I may have cli...

Re: one month on cpap and more tired than before
I'm in a similar situation - I've been on CPAP for 1 1/2 months and I feel worse than when I started. I finally went back to the sleep doc yesterday (but I went to a new doc because I didn't like the first one) and he was encouraging. Of course, none of this might apply to you, but I'll just let you...

Re: Online DME
I don't know about online DME's, but I've been using Active Healthcare in NC and I like them much better than Lincare (bad experience with them). I haven't been on CPAP too long, but they said that they ship all the supplies to your house for free, so theoretically if you just need replacement thing...

Re: Nose ridge from mask
I have the exact same problem with the Respironics EasyLife, although it sounds like it's not as bad as yours- I get a red mark that lasts for a couple hours each morning. I emailed Karen at padacheeks too, and I'm also hoping that she can come up with a nose bridge protector for it. Until then band...

Re: Tubes for S9?
I *think* that you can use regular tubing with the S9 if you are not using the humidifier - that's just from reading the manual though, no one told me that. And there is a setting on the S9 for standard tubing, so that makes sense.

Does Resmed leak rate mouth leaks?
Can anyone tell me if mouth breathing would show up in the Resmed leak rate that I see on the machine? Or is mouth breathing totally separate from the leak rate on the machine? I'm trying to rule out anything that's interfering with my therapy - and mouth breathing is one that I haven't ruled out ye...

Re: My first of many questions
Jersey Girl,
I think that you are the person who said that they'd tried two other CPAP pillows - I think that one had buckwheat hulls in it and I can't remember the other one. If that was you, how do the 2 of those compare to the Contour Living Memory foam cpap pillow?
Thanks! Pam

Does insurance ever cover the Aussie heated hose?
I've just been woken up *again* by water dripping down my face. And now the headgear is wet also - not comfortable to wear it that way. When I turn the humidifier down I get woken up because the outside of my nose itches and wakes me up. So the suggestion I found for that was to turn the humidifier ...

Re: worried
Hi Berta, I was also in the same situation - but congestion was from allergies and not a cold. I bought a nasal mask off of cpapauction.com for $48 (paid for it out of pocket) and that was easier for me to use when my nose was congested compared to the nasal pillows. But after I bought it I read som...

Re: water bubbeling up the tube and all over.
Also try putting your CPAP machine on the floor - that worked for me. I think that the condensation that turns to water flows back into the humidifier and doesn't stay in the hose and make that gurgling noise.
