Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

Dave, thanks again for sharing the information that you got - it's how we learn about various issues and nice to know that ResMed responded positively. Good on ya Mate Thanks TangledHose, yep that's the only way we learn about things like this. It's definitely good that ResMed are responding positi...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

Hi Everyone that's affected by this problem. Some good news....ResMed Australia (Manufacturing) have come back saying they can reproduce the problem it affects a small percentage of HumidAir tubs by a Stainless Steel surface finish problem. ResMed are working to resolve this issue by manufacturing n...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

It was a new tub and AirSense 10, the two previous tubs had to go back so I couldn't run a test on these with the new replacement AirSense 10, but bearing in mind that two tubs had the problem after 1 night and consistently every night for 13 nights and with the new AirSense 10 and tub replacement I...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

I have had my new tub for 5 days, so far no marks in the tub. I did turn down my humidity and have worked my way back up. If the marks reappear I will be sure to post. That's good news, 13 nights use on my original AirSense 10 and two new tubs every single night I would get the discolouration. ResM...

Re: My new Airsense 10 - just got it!

MyAir is not a subscription as far as I have been told - it's free from ResMed. I did not like the gray For Her version of the S10 with the ivy leaves on it - not a good look! The actual MyAir isn't but there is a cellular subscription to get the data to it on the machine, at least that's how it wo...

Re: My new Airsense 10 - just got it!

I haven't signed up for MyAir as I'm using SleepHead and ResScan to download the data off the machine but it looked like a good service although its subscription based and not sure really we get all the data off it from what I've read so far. I think it's more really for help by ResMed or DME that c...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

as has been pointed out to you, though you don't care, you can't heat that tub much over 100c (assuming you're near sea level) because that would cause the water to boil, taking heat away from the metal. presumably you'd have noticed live steam cooking your face, though, maybe that's the real cause...

Re: SD card replacement

I did use a 16gb SDHC once, but found really it wasn't worth paying the extra money for it, the reason because the detailed data stored by the S9 (and I presume AirSense 10) only keeps a maximum of 7 days of detailed data, then on the 8th day all the previous 7 days of detailed data gets deleted. So...

Re: SD card replacement

Hey that's okay, hope it works for you too. BTW, one thing I found after about a year with my S9 was that not only do some of the graphs disappear when you go to read the data on the computer but sometimes the AHI shows 0.0 when it's almost impossible for us CPAP users to reach a 0.0 and if you see ...

Re: Air in my very dry mouth

It sounds like the pressure you have is too high coming out of the machine or that the humidifier you have isn't generating warm air. Is the air cold or warm? Not having warm air (e.g. cold air) will dry up your mouth/throat. I don't have problems needing to tape my mouth shut but do find some times...

Re: SD card replacement

Usually when some data starts disappearing it's because the machine needs to be powered off. I've had this a lot on the S9, I would find if the machine wasn't powered off fully in about 4 weeks then one of the graphs / data would start to get dropped off. Power cycling (unplugging power) for 30 seco...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

Yes did all of the above, and distilled water does the same thing. Unless it's photographic technique, IMO it looks MUCH better, so IIWY I would continue distilled water and the re-passivation process and see what shakes out. That's the first night it looks the same with regular tap water and disti...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

I mean, "they" say: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x256/sleepydave/distilled_zps57071301.jpg If that turns out OK then check the mineral content of the tap water (specifically, iron, calcium, magnesium, and chlorine). If you want to continue to use tap water I suggest you re-passivate with nitr...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

My point is that you usually don't coat stainless steel. It just doesn't need coating in most cases. Well maybe that's what has happened, perhaps other previous tubs were coated and that's why they never exhibited this problem but the newer AirSense 10 tubs (or at least certain batches) aren't coat...

Re: AirSense 10 Humidifier badly discoloured after first use

or you could just say "meh, who cares" and just use the machine. if you can cook in stainless that has discoloration, and then eat that food, you can certainly breath moisture from water that's heated up in less than pristine pretty stainless. If you're paying for a $50 pan and you're putting hot o...
