Re: death of member

I cannot tell you how much your replies have helped my family and I deal with our grief. Some days it still seems impossible to believe that it actually happened. All your words have been tremendously comforting and I know my husband would have been extremely appreciative of all your support. My hus...

death of member

My husband was dealing with sleep apnea for some time. It was an extremely difficult issue to deal with. Although he was using the machine (and had tried several before he finally found a mask and machine that seemed to work reasonably well) it did not completely solve his health issues. He was alwa...

Re: S9 Skew investigation - your help needed!

An interesting thread. As a prospective future S9 purchaser, I am curious to know if ResMed has acknowledged this problem, AND IF SO, does anyone know if newer machines will receive an upgraded firmware to resolve this problem? ResMed does NOT acknowledge the problem in my experience... partially b...

Re: Melatonin vs. Ambien

Melatonin works for me... 3mg about 1 hour before bed. I have been using for about 3 months steady w/o side effects... it is a natural hormone produced by the pituitary gland in sufficient amounts when working properly and at a younger age. The pituitary gland produces less as we age. Some of us sup...

Re: ResScan Question

Every time I download the data from my SD card, the downloading is interrupted about 71% of the way through the progress by a message asking me whether I wanto to overwrite data. Anybody know what that's all about? Curious mind and all that. You should always choose " Discard " because if you choos...

Re: fisher & paykell

In my opinion F & P build very good machines but very few of them are data capable... the most important feature that you will need to know your progress. There are many good manufacturers of machines and each has their advantages. Your supplier has suggested F & P because it is an advantage to them...

Re: Swift LT for her question.

Nasal pillows take some time to get used to... there is more "direct" contact with the pressure from your machine since it is injected into your nose as opposed to overall pressure felt when using your nasal mask. As well... the smaller the pillow with the same pressure.. the air will rush faster th...

Re: Does Resmed S9 rewrite old data to new SD card?

When you save it to your computer... ResScan software... it will always be there. Once erased... your Detailed data cannot be written again by the S9... it is not stored there... only Summary data will be restored. I'm guessing that your Clinician guessed an answer... Your SD card will only store 7 ...

Re: Is it really necessary to clean tubing?

I believe it is an unnecessary risk to damage your hose integrity... I only swish rinse my humidifier tank when I refill... Change filters on your machine regularly... Clean your mask regularly where there is facial and hand contact... Clean your headgear a lot less often depending on the skin and h...

Re: New Issue Developing with Leak Rate

Hi Bernie... I'm guessing that you could point to 3 things for the increase in leaks... 1. Increasing pressure will always challenge the seal especially on Nasal Pillows so you may have to adjust your straps and angles to account for pressure. 2. Side sleeping and moving with any mask is a challenge...

Re: For what it's worth

Well as requested I submitted user profile. As I have mentioned in the past I have been diagnosed with "severe" apnea. Fortunately or unfortunately however you look at it I do not display the normal daily affects one would see with severe apnea. I do not fall asleep at meetings or while driving to ...

Re: Mirage Swift Fx

There is no "fixed" strap on the FX like there is on the Opus or Swift... You will have to "rig" it with your own velcro strap or buy "Papcap" or the like... One caveat... the air from the discharge blows very strong and very directional. I find there is no "good" direction unless I crank my head aw...

Re: NEWBIE-HELP ...I'm only sleeping 1 hour/night with the CPAP

You don't seem to point to any particular problem with mask, noise or pressure, so I assume that's not the problem. I'm guessing you find it uncomfortable generally... it is but like any else uncomfortable... you get used to it. It does get easier with 100% use and time (several months)... You have ...

Re: Get Both Patient & Clinician Manuals for Your CPAP

Do you agree that patients should (or do) have the right to adjust their own units ? I find it extremely odd that anyone would think that ANY patient would NOT have the right to adjust their OWN unit on their OWN body. Where would the thought have originated that someone else controls THAT RIGHT......
