Re: RESMED S9 HUMIDIFIER
My lights work, rather have the heat working than the fancy lights. After checking my machine, I found out the lights are indeed working properly. The red light comes on when the humidifier is heating. Still no word from ResMed. It's like pulling teeth to get in touch with my rep. So, if indeed the...

Re: Ridiculous quotes and deeds by doctors and DMEs
Good thing this thread exists. As many know that the cardiologist that I saw about 3 weeks ago wants a re-titration to make sure that my apnea is under control. Well the sleep doctor's office called today and well it just about sent me over the edge. Me: Hello (This is the only part of the conversa...

Re: Ridiculous quotes and deeds by doctors and DMEs
When I first started CPAP........ ME: I am having problems exhaling. It feels like I am trying to blow up a full balloon. Dr: Yep, A lot of people have that problem. Me: Is there something that we can do, maybe a different machine? Dr: No, a lot of people have that problem. I'll see you in six mont...

Chinstraps
Hello all, I am using a chinstrap that I found on Ebay. I absolutely HATE using a chinstrap, but cannot stand a full face mask, and am using the Swift LT. I just can't seem to keep my mouth closed without the strap. I'm a big guy, and have a larger head. Does anybody know of a chin strap that wraps ...

Re: RESMED S9 HUMIDIFIER
Just into my second month of using the S9 Elite, and I haven't noticed that problem. However, I do notice the red light that is supposed to come on when the heater is in use does not automatically come on when the machine comes on. I'm going to talk to my local Resmed rep and ask him about this. Sho...

Congratulations! I have to lose about 130 lbs if I want to get back to a normal weight, whatever that means. I'm so happy for you!

Re: Changed equipment and now can't sleep
The noise from my machine is successfully drowned out by the two fans I use now. I used to have the same problem. I also covered my machine with a folded towel, which helps. You might try getting one of those CPAP hose wraps for your hose. They help with condensation, and a little with the noise. Sn...

Re: Newbies having a rough time, could use some advice
I used to have a tough time tossing and turning in bed while asleep. I also use the Swift LT....but I haven't always. I have tried virtually every mask you can think of. It wasn't until I began placing a pillow on both sides of me that I was able to sleep through the night without tossing and turnin...

Wow! I didn't expect that kind of welcome! I sure appreciate you all, and look forward to talking with you all! I've noted the questions you all have asked. I will answer them as I formulate the answers....since I don't know everything, I've got to confer with my colleagues. I will answer the first ...

A little about my life with sleep apnea.
Greetings to all. Several years ago I had a sleep study performed. I did not meet the criteria for a split-night study, meaning they did not put a cpap mask on me the first night. My second night they tried to put a cpap mask on me, and I freaked out. I told them there was NO WAY I'd wear that thing...
