Re: Tips on reading Encore reports
Be careful. Sometimes a too tight mask will leak more. What mask are you using?

Re: Newbie - Falling Asleep Problems
What works for me, is my mp3 player and earbuds. Selection of music is very important. Focus on the music. Listen to every bit of it. Soon the mask and noise and all the negatives will be pushed to the back. Continue to focus on the music, rest every muscle in your body. Here comes the sleep. See yo...

Re: how do you know your mouth breathing other then a dry mouth?
dcarreiro, I hear your question! It is the answer that is not easy. You can see mouth breathing if you eliminate all other leaks. If you can ensure that your leaks are not caused by the mask, you can assume there might be mouth breathing involved. Some people here were suggesting that by taping your...

Re: Windows Vista Software for CMS 50E Pulse Oximeter (V 1.0)
The CMS 50 USB selects 10, but the software does not link to Com Port 10. The software sits there looking for data and can't find it. It is at this point that I go to the menu on the CMS 50E. If I remember right it is the bottom line that you set to upload. The computer then sees the data and start...

It is like the guy that went to the Doctor and asked "If I gave up wine, women, and song, will I live longer" The Doctor replied "maybe not, but it will certainly fell that way" Have a great weekend!

Re: NEWBIE CPAP and Diarrhea
Does anyone have Diarrhea when they use the CPAP. It seems if I use the CPAP longer than 6 hours a night I have been having diarrhea. Anybody else have this? Are you taking something like Glucophage (Metformin)? Den Wulfman, Can I asked why you asked that question? I am diabetic and since starting ...

Re: Newbie needs advice about noise
I guess I'll put in my 2 cents worth. I also use an O2 concentrator. I leave it downstairs and run a 50' hose upstairs. Eliminates the noise in the bedroom. The mask makes a big difference. I used 2 different masks with the same machine on the same setting with different noise at my ear. Both machin...

The other thing is that the machine stores data while the card is out. I had to mail card to DME for complaince. When I put the card back in 4 days later, the data for those 4 days were written to the card. I do not know how many days the machine can hold.

msudawg, you are right. The data is stored on card and can be read with EncorePro Vers. 2.2., but not viewed on LCD.

Re: should i raise my min pressure
boy... you have my head spinning. Pretty simple to me. Mean says that the machine spent more time at 5.75 then above or below it. An APAP machine is made to raise the pressure to prevent the Apnea. My understanding is if the minimum is too low it takes to long for the machine to affect the Apnea. Fo...

Re: sleep Dr. says I am not capable of doing my own data?
This kind of reminds me of a favorite question. "What are the 2 best ages in life?" 7 and 17! At 7 you have all the questions and at 17 you have all the answers. Come here or go to the Doctor with all the answers, you will not learn anything or improve your treatment. Go with informed questions you ...
