Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread

I do plan on trying to fix up some sort of diffuser for the vent on the pillows portion. That's on my list of things to try but I just haven't got around to it yet. I have some old generic cheaply made filter material for my ResMed machine that is really porous and I think it would make a good vent...

Re: Suggestions for a "good" DME in Portland, OR area

So I exchanged couple of e-mails with my insurance company. They haven't given me any numbers. But they said in network DMEs are in contract with them so they can't charge "the excess" to me. She said technically they'll take a "loss" if the amount is over. And she said it's OK for multiple DMEs to ...

Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread

.... I went from the Swift FX to the P10...hubby never mentioned the cold air on him from the Swift FX when I was using it but he quickly mentioned how nice it was to not have that cold air blowing on him from the P10. The venting bugged him but he just never complained...he said he would just pull...

Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread

How is the noise level with this mask? Also, how strong is the air exhaust in terms of effecting the other person in the bed? I'm currently using Resmed AirFit P10. I like the size, comfort and the diffused air exhaust aspects of it. It's working for me. But I think it doesn't last long relative to ...

Re: Suggestions for a "good" DME in Portland, OR area

Thank you very much for your reply. She could have if she would have but she didn't want to. Those fees are available on the insurance end but she either was too lazy to find them or uneducated on the process. That's what I thought too.. But she seemed nice and we chat for about 15 mins, so maybe sh...

Suggestions for a "good" DME in Portland, OR area

Hi all, I'm about to start shopping for a new APAP! This'll be my third one. I'm currently using Resmed S9 and it's six years old now. My girlfriend says sometimes it makes "animal howling like noises" at night! Something in it might be getting loose at higher pressures. I've been OK with Resmed mac...

Re: Does this pillow exist?

it sounds like the filling doesn't shift around that much, right? So if I make indentations towards the sides, will they more or less stay like that throughout the night? Yes, the indentations will pretty much stay where you make them. The hulls will need to have some room to move though or else yo...

Re: Does this pillow exist?

Hi, BlueWaters - I when I was helping my son with my grandson a month ago, I put two pillows inside of one pillow case to increase the thickness. The pillowcase cut down the shifting in a huge way. (There was no shifting) Maybe this will work for you? The other thing is maybe a hull pillow - you ca...

Re: Does this pillow exist?

I'd like to revive this thread... I'm a mostly side sleeping guy, 5' 9" and 225 lbs with very broad shoulders. I'm using Resmed's Swift FX nasal pillow mask.... I just can't find a pillow with the correct height to support my neck. I raise my pillow by putting folded towels and an extra pillow under...

Re: Accuracy of S9 Autoset statistics?

It looks like my AHI is still low, mostly around 2 or so. There are mostly clustered CSAs. I'd like to post my graphs. Which graphs (pressure, flow, leak etc..) are the more important ones to interpret what's going on?
Thanks.

Re: Accuracy of S9 Autoset statistics?

Hi all, I just got my new S9 Autoset. I've been using S8 AutoSet before. With S9, my AHI is around 1.9 for the first couple of nights. The central apnea index is around 1.4. The pressure stat is at 11.0 and my pressure range is set between 9-15. I am wondering if I need to tweak the pressure range t...

Re: AETNA & Cpap.com reimbursement experiences?

Hi all, I am about to go through the same procedure -- I have Aetna PPO with $200 deductible and I would like to get my equipment from cpap.com. I looked into local DME's and they seemed to be VERY reluctant to quote me a price. Finally, today I had an appointment with a DME and the price they quote...

Re: S8 AutoSet Vantage vs S9 AutoSet

....The S9's added ability to completely ignore what it judges to be a likely central apnea, even when the apnea occurs below 10 cm, is a good thing, yes. But if your diagnosis was "obstructive sleep apnea," not "central sleep apnea," and the numbers you are getting are as good as you say they are,...
