Re: Accuracy and Value of Titration Studies?
I agree that a "good" sleep study is very helpful, not only as a starting point, but also to diagnose all of the sleep issues. That said, I believe an autopap with extensive data, such as the S9, is also very helpful. By periodically checking the data one can see trends that indicate something else ...

Re: Night#1 with new S9 SD question and an observation
Does anyone have the Clinicians Manual for the S9? The answer to how to get the data out has to be inside. If it is not being included with the US versions bought over the internet then what about from other countries? What does our host say about how to get the information out of the machine? Surel...

Re: Meet the minds behind the S9
When Bob talks about 90% he is talking like Doctors talk and when ozij talks about 10% he is talking like patients talk. Example: I had a wife who was diagnosed with breast cancer. The Doctor said that because it was caught in the early stages she had a 95% likelihood of recovery. I said, that may b...

Re: Insurance, my DME, and S9
Thank you Ecocyber for the information regarding how to deal with the DME and the insurance company. I was hoping someone with experience in the area would provide insight in to how this all works. I have some follow up questions which I hope you or someone else can address. I understand there is ju...

Re: Insurance, my DME, and S9
Rested Gal and DTSM, Why would you choose the S8 over the S9? Is it because you do not like the features or is there a therapeutic reason?

Re: Insurance, my DME, and S9
Suppose he gets $500 for the machine from insurance - that amount is fixed, but it costs him $496 wholesale for the S9 and only $420 wholesale for the S8, ........ now what would you do? He sounds willing to take a cut to satisfy you but how much cut should he take? What if it costs him $ 523 to ge...

Insurance, my DME, and S9
My DME was all set to furnish me an S8 Autoset II. He said my insurance would pay a rental fee for 10 to 13 months and I would be responsible for a small copay until the rental period ended and then the insurance would buy the machine for me and I would have no additional cost. He said that since al...

Re: What range for APAP
Thanks for all the great information. I was all set to get the S8 Autoset II and was supposed to receive it today, but with the S9 being released to the U.S. this weekend I am waiting to see what it will cost and when it will be available in my area. I like the climate control feature and the centra...

Re: USB data card reader
I would correct these initial responses - based on akeegan (Al's) profile, he has a Resmed S8 Autoset II (as do I). The card reader is a "smart card" (not a standard SD card as the PR System One is). Larry (aka satsleep) doesn't list his equipment profile Sorry about that. I am asking about the S8 ...

Re: What range for APAP
Thanks everyone for taking the time to help me with your knowledge and advice. I have suggested to my Doctor an initial setting of 8 to 12 and I will get the software and monitor the leaks and other data. Once I am satisfied with how it is working then I will consider changing the maximum to the 20....

I have an old hose and mask and if I don't wash them they come apart. Washing seems to restore them for a few days.
