Re: Any recent Colonoscopy participants here?
I've also heard that the MiraLax prep is more palatable as well. If you throw away the flavors included with the prescription "lytely's", it has about the same taste/feel as Miralax. I have never used the flavors with the prescription stuff so I don't know how they taste. The prescription stuff has...

Re: OT: Leg Cramps
Potatoes and some legumes are great sources of potassium. Avocados are as well but they are expensive and high fat (plus I don't like them). According to the USDA's food database , a medium banana has 422 mg of potassium while a cup of black beans (my favorite legume) has 801 mg and a medium baked p...

Re: Heavy feeling in chest
How long before I get use to the cpack my chest feels like it's starving for air and the cpack is working Is your machine set to start at a lower pressure and ramp up to your therapy pressure? The default setting for the ramp start pressure was too low for me to get enough air so I changed to a hig...

Re: Quatro FX leaks SO frustrated
I have problems with leaks around the eyes and 'mouth farts' at the bottom corners with the Quatro FX. The leaks around the eyes were improved by using the silicone swimming ear plugs. If you can wear a mask with a forehead brace, there are a quite a few you can try. Any mask with a forehead brace g...

Re: Any recent Colonoscopy participants here?
They put me under using propofol. Propofol is one of the meds that cause 'conscious sedation' with some nice amnesia qualities. Because of a combination of a genetic disease and current polyp growth, I have routine scopes of my short (< 10 inches) colon and my stomach at least once a year. The plac...

Re: Off Klonopin, Restless Leg is back, more deep sleep
Any help on what i might be able to do to help the restless leg without using klonpin? There is a little anecdotal evidence that a tens unit can help rls and plmd. I get more plmd help than I do rls help but the rls help is enough that with consistent use I have cut my use of painkillers by 2/3. I ...

Re: Allergy Season - Benefits to CPAP?
As a new CPAP user, I've read that I should experience less problems with pollen due to breathing filtered air at night. Does CPAP help reduce problems with pollen? What has your experience been? During the spring allergy season I frequently start noticing symptoms 1/2 hour after I get up - this wa...

Re: ZZZ SG full face --ANYONE tried it?
I have both the SG full face and the SG nasal and the cushions feel the same. The top part of both nasal and full face have very similar shapes.chunkyfrog wrote:Hoping the SG is softer, and still fits.
I tried the SG nasal, and would have kept it, but the leaks were too bad. Nice design.

Re: ZZZ SG full face --ANYONE tried it?
I never tried the other ZZZ full face mask but have a ZZZ SG full face mask. I can't use a mask with a forehead brace because the forehead brace triggers headaches. The ZZZ full face mask is the best I have tried, leak wise and better than the Full Life comfort wise. I prefer the smaller size of the...

Re: Restless Leg Syndrome
I have both rls and period limb movement problems. About half the leg movements on my diagnostic sleep study occurred at the end of a rera (respiratory effort related arousal) and my sleep doc said they were likely part of my body's response to the arousal. I would expect using cpap for the reras wo...

What is the machine reporting for AHI? If your AHI is higher than 5, I would talk to to your doctor. I would also download Sleepyhead or ResScan (find link in Uncle Bob's signature line) and look at your data. There are 2 important things to check. The first is your leak rate - ResMed machines repor...

Re: Question: S9 Vpap Auto vs S9 Autoset
I'm guessing the vpap auto could also function as a straight (albeit pricey) cpap if needed? I get a 50% insurance contribution, but only one shot to get the right machine. The S9 VPAP Auto will work as a straight cpap, a bi-level and an auto adjusting bi-level. When set as an auto adjusting bi-lev...

Re: Has anyone had success with the Quattro FX?
I really wanted this to work for the lack of the forehead support. I wear glasses, so that means I won't put it on until I really am ready to go to sleep. There are several more full face masks that don't have a forehead support. The ones that are the best for out of the way of glasses are the 2 ma...

Have you considered the gel pads that sit on the bridge of the nose? That might help with the leaks near the eyes. I think I know what you're talking about and when I am at the pharmacy tomorrow I will look for them. The one I have is made by ResMed. Cpap.com carries it and one made by another comp...

That sounds like a red flag for a reaction to something in your sleep environment or to something you are exposed to just before you go to bed. Just a thought.Kairosgrammy wrote:Worse, I can be fine all day long and as soon as I lay down, there goes the nose.
