Do you use a battery backup device?
In my area, power outtages are common. I learned waking up in a power outtage while using CPAP is not a pleasant experience. I purchased an APC ES battery backup, which works well keeping CPAP running if the power goes out, but unfortunately sounds an alarm. APC says I need to silence the alarm opti...

Re: Snored Last Night - First Time Since Using CPAP
Wow thanks everybody DoriC I'm set at 16 cm without any leaks as far as I can tell. Wulfman my machine has some kind of removable data card but I haven't bought a reader yet.... I haven't snored since May 2 so this might have been an isolated incident plus there was alcohol consumption earlier in th...

Snored Last Night - First Time Since Using CPAP
I've been a hoser since January and last night my fiance woke me to tell me I was snoring really loud (while using CPAP). I was on my back which is unusual for me. Should I be concerned and report this to my sleep doctor?

CPAP Filters: change interval & white vs gray?
hello everyone I did a search on " Filter " and couldn't find what I was looking for, which is how often do you change yours? Also, I've seen some discussion on white versus gray filters - can someone clue me in - is gray not as good? Do most of you folks buy your filters online or a the local DME? ...

Man that headgear strap hurts my neck
I loosened it a little and that immediately caused a leak. No doubt about it - I have that mask on TIGHT...it's leak-free but boy does that strap across the back of my neck dig in and kinda hurt. Should I be shopping for some kind of pad or does it sound like I have the mask and headgear positioned ...

Newbie wonders: Should I get a CPAP Pillow?
I've been CPAPn' since January 30th and so far things are good. I no longer snore or wake up gasping for air. I'm a side sleeper and occassionally find it difficult to find a comfortable position that doesn't cause a mask vs. pillow leak. I've checked out the pillows for sale on CPAP.com and before ...

Ever add anything to your humidifier water?
I tried to do a search on this but came up empty:
Do any of you folks add anything to your humidifier water? I don't know...like saline or a mentholyptus cough drop. I get congested in the winter and was tempted to add some Afrin to mine but quickly wised up - so I just thought I'd ask you guys

Re: Are CPAP masks are supposed to vent pressurized air?
The vent holes must NOT be blocked under any circumstances! [/color] Don't worry, I'd never block the holes - just thought I had something adjusted or set incorrectly. Thanks for the info everybody...I guess since my perscription calls for a setting of 16 (which I guess is on the high side) this co...

Are CPAP masks are supposed to vent pressurized air?
Sorry for the newb question, but while in use, my Mirage Quattro full face mask continually vents pressurized air through the small pin holes located near the top of my nose. It is continuous and actually blows on my wife, enough to blow her hair around. I understand there has to be someplace for ex...
