Re: Seeking help with full face mask

I use the F&P 431. Like previous poster, this particular mask is the ONLY one that ever worked for me. The CPAP.com description in your signature says the mask seals under the chin. How does that affect mouth breathers? I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. I'm a big time mouth breather and...

Re: OT: Sad News...

I haven't been on the forum a lot lately for various reasons, but saw this today. I am so sad. I considered 49er a good, online friend. As someone else said, she and I didn't always see eye to eye, but she was always kind and respectful of my viewpoints. Her loss will leave a hole in the forum. May ...

Re: Cpaptalk.com vs Apneaboard.com

I really haven't done anything here to tame the crowd. Everyone has done it themselves. . . . The overall atmosphere here...that's all from you guys behaving like adults and not 3 yr olds. You have yourselves to thank...not me. . . . Well, in the past, Mom and Dad, understandably so, sometimes seem...

Re: Trilogy 100 settings

I am thinking that the timing of the inhale/exhale (at whatever settings) is going to be the most help and maybe the medical care team could maybe play with the Inspiratory Time thing and maybe the breath rate to achieve the comfort needed in this situation. It's what I would ask them to do if this...

Re: Trilogy 100 settings

Madalot, Thanks so much for your reply. From what I understand the EPAP min should be much lower say around 4. Does that sound about right to you. Well, an EPAP of 4 sounds too low to me. But here's the thing. AVAPS with AE means "Auto EPAP." By having the EPAP Min/Max the same, using the AE option...

Re: Trilogy 100 settings

She doesn’t have enough time to exhale before machine pushes more air. Thanks for your help I know nothing about COPD, but I do use the Trilogy 100 for a different situation. I use regular AVAPS, finding the AE uncomfortable. And one thing I would like to mention that using the AVAPS-AE with the Mi...

Re: Carbohydrate Cravings

As someone who cut way back on all carbs and lost 100 pounds doing it, I can tell you that eating carbs makes you crave them. I didn't cut them out completely, but limited them, especially the ones that made my blood sugar increase, like white rice and breads. I would eat those in very limited quant...

Re: OT- What sounds good to eat for Christmas Day lunch?

ohh- that sounds tasty- that sounds good for breakfast- If we have any left, they may get eaten for breakfast! We usually do a breakfast casserole, but I don't have it in me this year to make it. So, we'll have cinnamon rolls (my favorite), we can make eggs and we've got a fresh batch of pork sausa...

Re: OT- What sounds good to eat for Christmas Day lunch?

madalot- what is ham biscuits and chicken salad biscuits? Just take any kind of biscuit (or dinner roll), slice it in half, and put a slice of ham or a scoop of chicken salad on it. Makes a mini sandwich/slider type thing. We'll make them ahead of time (probably that morning - we are cooking the ha...

Re: OT- What sounds good to eat for Christmas Day lunch?

We do our big celebration on Christmas Eve and by mid day Christmas, everybody is gone. We do appetizers all afternoon/evening on Christmas Eve so we tend to just pull out whatever leftovers we want and munch on Christmas Day. This year's menu includes shrimp (brother-in-law loves), swedish meatball...

Re: CMS 50D+ accurate?

A little late chiming in on this and I've never had a 50D+, but... I had the 50F (wrist model) and because of my situation, I have to have occasional tests through the DME. To see how accurate mine was, I used them both on the same night (mine & the one from the DME) and checked the results. They we...
