Re: Inverter extention cord question
PS And apologies to Mdboze for being rude. Your post struck me the wrong way...and I hadn't had my morning coffee yet. No problem, I didn't take it personally. And, Yes, coffee is a must for most of us here, especially after a night of mask leaks, or a bad AHI night. having an EE say this is very m...

Re: Inverter extention cord question
You said you want to make your own extension cord from a 30 foot piece of lamp wire. Please do not mess with AC power. 600 watts can kill and cause fires if not wired correctly, or if done with the wrong wire guage. Can you simply use a standard off-the-shelf, pre-made 25 foot extension cord from th...

new settings dropped AHI to 0 - 1 !
My new settings dropped my AHI from 5-6 to 0 - 1, and I feel great! Sometimes the smallest changes can make BIG differences! After 1 1/2 years at the same setting. 4 Weeks ago, I got the new TrueBlue mask from Respironics. It did not quite feel/work the same as my old Resmed nasal mask so I tweaked ...

Re: Started daily 250mg Nuvigil
[The side effects, for me, were too severe and potentially life threatening to keep taking it. The daytime breathing problems were a big concern. Additionally, the side effects worsened each day. I also have occasional daytime breathing problems; but not as often as I did in the first few weeks. It...

Started daily 250mg Nuvigil
I started daily 250mg Nuvigil about 3 weeks ago. My new sleep apnea Doctor prescribed it for my regularly feeling exhausted before the end of each day, regardless of having had several hours good night sleep. (AHI was about 4.0 - 5.0 typical) I take it every morning at about 7am. It definitely helps...

Re: BiPAPauto SV-Generic (homemade) data interface card anybody?
Yes,
The DT-3500 Smart Card Reader is what I've been using for over a year with my BiPAP autoSV Advanced.

Works great. All you need is a PC with a USB port and the Encore Pro software.

Re: Philips Respironics Launches BiPAP autoSV Advanced Sleep Sys
Does Encore Viewer 2.0 software drop all but the last few detailed reports? The smart card holds one week of detailed data. Things to remember: Continue to come here for support and advice. I would have given up out of frustration without all the support I got here when I started about a year ago. ...

Re: Another question about Centrals
my Respironics BiPap auto sv costs about $3500, some of which was paid by insurance. Edit: My Part was about $3500 , insurance paid the rest. I did my own research and picked the machine I wanted, and asked my docctor to write a perscription for it. Don't forget to include the humidifier option. Be...

Re: Another question about Centrals
I have Complex Sleep Apnea (CompSA) Like myself, Underdog needs a Bi-Pap machine to handle the centrals. A constant airway pressure can actually trigger centrals in some people (like myself). The BiPap machine that I use provides a different pressure for inhalation and exhalation, and has Auto-Breat...

Re: How often do you clean your equipment?
I do not clean any of it very often. I clean my mask with a un-scented baby wipe ever few weeks (if that ofter). Rinse out the humidifier - about the same : every few weeks. Clean the hose every few months. But I make sure I hang the hose between uses (over my bedside table) to ensure it does not re...

Re: BiPAPauto SV-Generic (homemade) data interface card anybody?
Hi my fellow Respironics BiPAPauto SV and BiPAPauto SV Advanced users. Have any of you made yourself a homemade data interface to connect these devices to a PC? I am afraid to even ask what the Respironics part costs because I know it will be cost prohibitive for me. I wondered if any of you were h...
