Re: Very frustrated with Anthem insurance and oral appliances

custom made can work but the long term risks are tmj pain / and uncontroled teeth movement. This is why I went to the orthodontist for the final build. These are issues I wanted to avoid. As far as quality of the device, I showed her pictures of all the devices I could find and she said that most o...

Re: Very frustrated with Anthem insurance and oral appliances

I'm going to jump in here and let you know what I've been playing around with. I was going on a trip and was going to spend some time above 12,000 ft. I was worried about bringing my cpap along so I looked into an oral appliance. I couldn't afford the $1500+ price so I decided to "lab rat" it. I loo...

Re: REMstar Auto A-Flex question

To your first point I believe you need a software called Encore Pro to fully access all the information. As to your second point I believe that your machine has an auto-on function in which it will turn on by itself when you put the mask on. Being a non-jew forgive my ignorance but would the auto fu...

comfortgel nasal noise level

I was given a comfortgel nasal mask. I changed the gel and flap. The mask is very comfortable but it seems louder then the optilife. I have read several places that this mask is suppose to very quite. I'm not seeing any cracks and the mask vents at the elbow. Am I missing anything or was I just expe...

Glad I'm not crazy. So are full face masks less efficient than nasals?

Re: Drowning even with a hose cover!!

Up here in Maine things get a little chilly and the furnace runs alot so things get dry. I was getting rain-out and don't have much money so I bought fleece at Walmart for $2.50 and made my own cover, helped some. I then bought the reptile cable ( http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=27579 ) for ...

Different masks different pressures?

For the last week I switched to my hybrid mask from my optilife. I'm frustrated with the results. My machine is set at 10cm/13cm. With the Optilife my numbers are good and my 90% is around 11. With the hybrid my snores are much higher, my AHIs are higher and and my 90% is 12 and sometimes 13. I do g...

Re: noise levels compared (Found answer)

Found my answer, the "M" series is 31 D, 12.5" x10" x 7.5", 5.5 lbs and the Remstar plus is 30Db, 15" x 11.5" x 7", 4.65 lbs.

I guess seek and you will find.

noise levels compared

I'm still looking for a cheap travel machine. I still have 4 weeks till I go so I still have some time for the best deal to fall into my lap. Here's the question, How does the noise level of the older Remstars compare to the newer "M" series. Also size wise what are the differences? Comparing a Rems...

Very sad, called the guy and he sold it. I guess it was a good deal.

Re: used remstar auto, good deal?

Where would be a good place to find a used humidifier for this unit. I checked cpapauctions and nothing, I have found some new ones online but $200 for a humidifier for a $60 machine doesn't seem right. Any Ideas?

Anyone ever heard of Graham Field?

I talked to my sister-in-law who works for a company that processes orders for various companies who says that she can get me cpap machines or supplies for below cost from one of the companies they deal with. She thought the company was Graham Field. Has anyone ever heard of them? I did find that th...

Re: used remstar auto, good deal?

You need to be careful, the machine has two hours to read. When you first plug it in the true machine hours are shown for a short time, then the patient use hours are shown. The owner stated that this is the number that firsts showed up so I'm guessing it is true machine hours. If you turn off the ...

Re: used remstar auto, good deal?

Talked to owner who says that it has 7900 hrs on unit as well as the model number is 1007381(so no c-flex). Here is my thinking. 7900 hours divided by 8 and then divided by 365 says that this machine was used every night for 2.5 years. So this machine is half way through it's life. (feel free to cor...
