Re: Airsense 10 is 8 years old, keep using it?

Mine first displayed that message two years ago at 23,000 hrs. Its still going strong today at 30,000 hrs.
I do have a backup machine.
I'll change at the first sign anything is changing, that will probably be fan noise.

Re: Need the software before ResScan 5.1

I'm currently running ResScan 5.3 and have had every release for the past 5 years, I don't think I have the backup's, but they maybe on an old computer.
I'm not aware of anything that has ever been removed from any release.
What's the problem?

Re: Best way to eliminate the new plastic stink?

I've just got my new AirSense for Her which I'm using with an old mask. The smell is in the machine and had gone by the third night.
The name really bugs me as I'm a Him, but I prefer the extra options.

The new version of ResScan 4.5 appears to include the S10 in its configuration data.

Re: Cleaning Silicone Cushions (Poll)

I'm sure almost any grease / oil cutting detergent or soap would be OK, but I find baby shampoo is the only one that doesn't leave a residual smell.
I also boil my Swift FX cushions if they stop sealing correctly which is every 3 - 4 months and replace them every 18 months .

Re: How often do you change water

It's very personal but I've used this routine for 3 years. We have very good tap water so I don't see the need to use distilled. About every week I boil a jug full of water to remove the chlorine, and give tank a good scrub. I fill the tank and store about 1 litre of water. Every second night I top ...

Re: How often does ResMed update machines?

The Resmed S8 was out for about 5 years and I think it may have been the same for the S7.
The S9 is just about up to year 3 so I'd give it another 2 years.

Re: Question about cleaning your mask with Baking Soda

The first time I tried boiling, I boiled a damaged, unusable mask cushion so I could be sure that boiling would not be harmful. I heat the water to boiling, add baking soda, drop in the mask cushion (and forehead pad), and leave it in the water until it cools down. I clean it before boiling, and ag...

Re: Mask vent waking partner

Loosely taping some very porous filter material over the vent holes won't impede the air flow at all. All it does is diffuse the blast Any air pressure will lift the filter away from the holes. You only tape on two sides. Anyone that uses a machine that shows the total air flow can easily check thei...

Re: How often to replace supplies

I've had my S9 for a bit over two years, I have spares for everything except the machine, and may even get one of those sometime. I was waiting for the S10, but the S8 was current for 5 years. The nasal pillows lasted 18 months with a bit of boiling until the pillows started to deform. The second se...

Re: Problem with my S9? Or just the aliens???

The best way I can think on how to describe how to format the data card is to search Windows Help for Format and read the instructions on how to Format a Floppy Drive, the procedure is exactly the same. Use the default format of Fat 32. Caution, please make sure its the SD card your formatting. Form...

Re: Problem with my S9? Or just the aliens???

In two years I've had one night with data loss, and that was over a year ago. I'm suggesting the memory card as its simple and they do cause some problems that's normally solved by reformatting the card. The other possibility on the keep it simple idea is to disconnect the power for a few minutes to...

Re: Problem with my S9? Or just the aliens???

My first guess and that's all it is would be to try reformatting the SD card, or try another card. The memory cards are the same as ones used in most cameras. Any SD or SDHC card with a capacity of greater than 1 Gb should work. All the compliance data is stored in the machine and will be copied to ...

Re: REsmed S9 Humidifier

The washable tub has to be preferred over the disposable one as its very easy to disassemble and clean. I'm a bit surprised by your question though as I though all Resmed S9's sold in Australia had the washable tub. Have they now tried to cut costs by supplying the disposable one instead, not that I...

Re: Changed machine settings to see how it would go - results

It's really a good case of why APAP is better than CPAP. You may find occasionally you need a pressure of 20, but for most of the time 12 is fine. Personally I would be using a pressure of 12 - 20. Do you need the ramp?, a lot of people are started with ramp to help getting used to the pressure, but...
