Re: what are gel decals?

I think what they mean are either "moleskin" which is used to cushion warts, bunions and other foot ailments, or the gel heel inserts they sell to cushion the backside of your shoes to keep your foot from rubbing raw at the back of the heel. Someone was speed typing and mis-spoke. They are probably...

Re: what are gel decals?

[quote="bearded_two"]Most of the items in dollar stores are made in China and I don't trust Chinese products that are eaten, used for cooking, come into contact with food, or are used in contact with the body. Have you checked where the nasal pillows are made? Mine say "China" on them. What can I do...

Re: meaning of AHI for a lay person

REMstar Auto A-Flex, system one heated humidifier (Respironics) with Fisher & Paykel Flexifit 413 full face mask. I did figure out how the equipment is listed and changed my profile settings. I have no idea what the red ball is for that is pictured next to the machine.

Re: meaning of AHI for a lay person

After using my new machine for 12 days, the screen says I have 2% leak for 7 days and 1% leak for 12 days. The AHI gives only the total readings, not broken down by A and H. I read around 3. I appreciate the useful information I have received. Saying my "Therapy is NOT working" without giving any re...

Re: meaning of AHI for a lay person

Why would you say my therapy is "not effective at this point"? Just because I don't understand what all the information means?

Re: meaning of AHI for a lay person

I have no software, I just read my machine daily. I have no way of getting my Smart Card read.

Re: meaning of AHI for a lay person

I do read a lot, Gumby, but sometimes I get so tired I just like a few words of plain English to confirm what I'm thinking. Thanks for all the links.

what are gel decals?

Can anyone tell me what gel decals are and where I can find them? If I ask at the dollar store they will think I'm crazy if I don't know what they are.

meaning of AHI for a lay person

Does the AHI indicate the number of times I have stopped breathing even with the CPAP machine? If I weren't using the machine would that number be much higher? With a properly set machine could the index ever be 0?

Re: Hose covers at the dollar store!!!

I'm going to head to the Dollar Store this afternoon. Hope they have some scarves you described and the gel decals that were suggested on another thread to protect noses when using ff masks. Great idea and creatitive thinking. Jan Can anyone tell me what gel decals are and where I can find them? If...

Re: Sweet Smell after taking mask off?

I notice a smell also, rather like freshly ironed laundry. When I had my sleep study last week I asked the techs about it and they had never heard of it. They thought it might be the soup I use to wash the equipment, but I smelled the same thing when I took the mask off at the sleep lab. Guess I'm ...

Re: Sweet Smell after taking mask off?

After you mentioned it's a bodily sweet smell and you smell it when you sneeze, I had another idea. When your body converts fat to energy that process is called ketosis. (I think there's more to it.) Those who don't eat a lot of carbs experience this more often. One of the effects is a sweet smelli...
