Re: how do you know your mouth breathing other then a dry mouth?

My thought is that if your data is showing your leak rate that small you are breathing through your mouth. Try adjusting your humidifier. If that doesn't work than try a chin strap, or as some others do, tape your mouth.

Re: Help re-titration

I think you really need to check this one out. My first titration showed 147 events per hour, 142 api and 5 hpi, and after going in to have my pressure set it was only recommended at 12. I have since adjusted it to 14 after working with my therapy and sleep doctor. So under this assumption that you ...

Re: Should I use a chinstrap with an FFM?

I use the Mirage Quatro a chin strap. I use them both for two reasons, one I started using the chin strap in hopes of training myself to not be a mouth breather and second to see if it would improve my therapy. I have found that I my mouth breathing seems to be getting better becaus I switch to a na...

Re: My mask is leaking!

When I first started using the Quatro I had the same issues you are having. After trying other masks, full face and nasal, I keep coming back to it. I have found, after allot of experimentation, that I can make it work very comfortably for me. This is what I have to do every night. In the mask instr...

help please; resmed mask setting

I am sure I have looked at this somewhere but I cannot find it. For the Resmed S8 Elite II what mask setting do you use for the Mirage Swift ii? And can anyone show me where I can find a list of the description for the Elite mask settings, the mask list is not in the manual. Thanks

Re: Salivary Gland swelling and infections

Never heard of it directly related to cpap so no telling how or why you might be having the problem. But this is another good reason to make sure you clean your equipment on a regular basis before but especially after you have an illness. Unlike many in this forum I believe that not keeping your equ...

Re: Waiting for Wow factor to kick in

I am one of the lucky ones the "WOW" factor for me was after the first night of therapy. Don't get me wrong I have gone through all of the hassels of finding the correct mask, the sore nose, the dealing with the uncomfortable pillows, the mask leaks and just about everything else you will read about...

Re: Zyrtec causes acid reflux?

Rooster: Here are two links that discuss histamine indications in regards to GERDS. However most of my dealings with the subject came from the gastroenderoligist that my daughter, who at the age of 16 had to have nissen fundoplication surgery to correct her GERDS, my wifes dealing with the problem f...

Re: Zyrtec causes acid reflux?

Katie, hello. Antihistamines can attribute to the effects of acid reflex but if you take it in the mornings that should help because it will have time to get into your system before bedtime which is when GERDS is the worst. If that does not work than you could try taking prevacid otc or zantac otc i...

Re: How often do you run your back-up cpap?

Before electronics and other goods are packaged and shipped they are, or should be, lubricated and prepared for sitting on the shelf for an idefinite period so that the components will not dry out. However once they are being used that initial protection will deteriorate and unless the item is used ...

Re: Legality of unscripted resale by those in sleep field

Good questions. I would think that this is a question that needs to be asked of the Pharmacy board or local medical oversight agency since this is a written prescription. Also what would be the ramifications if you were to sell or give a machine to someone and that person had an adverse reaction to ...

Re: MONKEY BUSINESS BY DME SUPPLIER

Good for you stand up for what is the appropriate care and treatment from these people. I would also suggest that you contact your insurance carrier, if one is involved and relay your situation to them, they do have allot of influence with these people. I would also let the doctor that wrote your pr...
