Re: Capsaicin Nasal Spray

This reminds me of an incident when I was working at an all night pharmacy. About midnight a lady with a young daughter brought in a rx ofr zostrix(capsacian?)- normally used for arthritis. I am glad I had the time to further question them after filling it. She described an acute outbreak of genital...

Re: Can Breast Implants Cause Sleep Apnea?

Hmmmm-- One of the things that impact OSA is gravity. In people with big stomachs(MOI) or excess neck tissue problems arise. With this in mind, it is not a big leap to ocnsider the gravity problems with the extra weight of store bought boobs. Just a thought. But in going over my data bank of cloae f...

Re: Bacterial & Viral Filters

Questions like this make me scratch my head.

What do all the other people in your house use to filter these bad pathogens 24 hours of every day?

What do you use the other 16 hours of the day?

Just wondering

Re: BLOATING FROM CPAP MACHINE

Do a search on aerophagia.
It has been covered about 12 million times on this site.
It is simply air being ingested and causes the blaoting.
It is not gas in the traditional sense that is metabolic and is not helped by typical anti gas agents.

Re: Difficulty in swallowing pills

As a pharmacist, I have been presented with this "problem" about a million times. It is always amusing for a mom to say that little Johnny "cannot swallow this pill" in front of him. After a while little Johnny has a convenient excuse for not trying. Sometimes I ask her if this is the same kid that ...

Re: Hi! I just joined this site today!

Just curious,
What forum were you using and why did you look here?

I do not post over there at sleepnet.com, but I notice it has been closed for about 3 weeks and the owner closes it everytime he has a personal break. I wonder how many people are happy with this?

Welcome and let us hear from you.

Re: Have a sleep lab type question?

How much time is spent grading a sleep study and does this vary with different labs? How much does the average referring doc understand a sleep study? Do the docs simply rely on the brief summary or actually make an attempt to come to their own didgnosis and recommendation? What percent of docs ask ...

Re: How long did it take you to get your machine?

My story is probably not representative and most sleep centers would not do what mine did. I had a study done @1996 and the center was affiliated with a DME on premises. When I got ready to go, I fibbed a little and told then my doc said I could get the machine immediately. The techs made a call to ...

Re: Is sleep debt real?

I could be wrong, but I am skeptical of the term sleep debt. It may just be a very subjective term used to describe the general effects of sleep deprivatino over a period of time. If this satisfies many people, then so be it. I just have a problem with it being used as a clinical entity that is obje...

Re: Sweet Smell after taking mask off?

Although I do not post over there anymore, I have monitored sleepnet.com for many years. It has less than 2 posts per day and is operated by Sandman with very rigid posting rules, maybe explaining the number of posts. A few years ago he was writing a book about his life as a sleep tech and had a cha...

Our obsession with cleanliness

I am often amused with the many posts on sterilizinig our equipment. I referred to in previous posts about the "hygiene hypothesis" Maybe we are too clean for our own good and in our evolution, exposure to pathogens kept us healthy by stimulating our immune system. This is an article in science dail...
