Re: My wife will be having her own sleep study next week

My insurance would not cover a split study, they wanted at least 6 hours of testing. So I had to go back about 3 weeks later. It would have been longer, but someone cancelled their appointment and I was able to get back in sooner.

Re: CPAP on the Cheap and Creative Modifications

Good thread idea, YawnGirl. I'd like to see other people's creative ideas! To Dreamon: please post the pic of your knitted one! My knitted hose cover, displayed by Mr. Sock Monkey: http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/yy30/REMdeprived/SockMonkeyHose.jpg I made it using the small (blue) Knifty Knitter...

Re: The Official Letter to Hosp re: denying my cpap post-op

I am so sorry that happened to you! Your letter is very well written and I hope that they take it seriously and that this prevents another person from going through what you did.

Re: Is it okay not to use the humidifier option?

I have the machine sitting on a stand lower than my bed right now. My bed is one of those old fashioned ones that you have to practically use a ladder to get in to But it is only about 10 inches lower. I read on another thread to try putting it on the floor on a shoe box, maybe I can try that. I can...

Re: H1N1

Most of my students have had the flu shots. I have one parent who is very much against it. So far they have been lucky, but I worry what will happen if she does get the swine flu. Several of my former students who are not in Kindergarten had it, but their younger siblings who are in my center did no...

Re: Experiences with weight loss and CPAP?

It is so great to read about everyone's weight loss success My doctor is having a follow up with me soon to see if I have lost any weight and we will go from there to see if I need to adjust anything. It has been a hard time recently for me so I doubt I have lost any weight.

Is it okay not to use the humidifier option?

My RT said that because of where I live (WV) I need the humidifier. Well even on the lowest setting of 1, I wake up with a mask full of condensation. I have been filling it with fresh distilled water each night but keeping it on 0. I live in my parent's finished attic at the moment, so heat rises up...

Re: H1N1

I checked the facts and I spoke to three different doctors about it, I am comfortable with my choice to get both flu shots. I work with small children and usually miss about 2 weeks of work per year with things like strep throat (which sent me to three doctors, two antibiotics and almost sent me to ...

Re: Hello, I am new here..

I am hoping that my apnea was the main reason for my blood pressure. It has been lower since I have started therapy. I do have the machine, and am using it nightly. I love it and would not give it up for a million dollars LOL I do not know my pressures, they did tell me, but I have forgotten since t...

Re: Hello, I am new here..

Thank you all for the warm welcome and for the information Therapy itself has been easy for me. I have always been one who can sleep any time, anywhere. The mask does not bother me at all, I don't even realize that I have it on. The machine itself does not make any noise. It did take a couple of nig...

Re: Nasal congestion try 1,547

I was told not to keep distilled water past 7 days. I make my own and only keep it for 7 days, then I dump it and wash the container and make some more. I use my Neti Pot every night before bed. I can only use about 1/4th of a pack of the OTC salt solution. That is my personal comfort amount, and I ...

Hello, I am new here..

Hello everyone My name is Jaylee and I am new to BiPap therapy. My story is long, but here it goes I have had trouble sleeping for years. I woke up often during the night and was told that I snored. I never gave it much thought, though. I had severe headaches that had me missing at least half a day ...

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start

Hello everyone. I am introducing myself I am Jaylee, and I have been using my BiPap machine for about one month now. I am anxious to come back tomorrow to add in the info from my machine/mask/etc, but for now I must go get some sleep, as I am working early in the morning. I am thrilled to have found...
