Re: How many Resmed S9's DON'T have the bird sound ?

Mine made that noise out of nowhere for a period of about a month. Drove me nuts. I never have changed settings and the noise went away by itself and hasn't been back thank Goodness. I have no idea what it was or what brought it on but I'm glad it gone. As someone else said, it was very quiet and ha...

Re: Apneas when semi-awake with the mask on?

If you find that you stop breathing as you fall asleep (as you describe), please realize this is a perfectly normal situation. The following paper describes it in detail. It's normal for there to be unstable breathing during when you are in this "semi-awake" stage. Ventilation is unstable during dr...

Re: Surgery and Cpap – sharing my experience

I have never seen anything in my literature about levothyroxine that says take it alone. There is no warning on my bottle Has having the mass removed made any difference with your Ai and AHI? Good Luck on your continued recovery. My bottle simply says "take on empty stomach" and i was verbally told...

Re: Surgery and Cpap – sharing my experience

Pat, I am hypothyroid and take levothyroxin. As far as the importance of taking the pill everyday and at the same time everday, nothing like experience. I had someone tell me her doctor advised taking it on an empty stomach, prior to other meds, and also to take it with distilled water. I don't go ...

I had some interesting experiences and wanted to share with you all so perhaps I can help anyone else with SA, going under general anesthesia. There are other posts on thi...

Re: Be back in a few weeks - wish me luck. :)

It could have went better but not horrible by any stretch. Some interesting things happened that were cpap and surgery related a...

Re: Resmed S9 Auto - 1st night photo summary

I've experienced the same... my AHI on my S8 was always between 5.0 and 9.0 with mostly hypopneas. WIth the S9 my AHI is between .5 and 1.0 with NO hypopneas. I feel pretty darn good in the last few days also on the new S9 so the S9 is a freakin MIRACLE machine, or my mind has me fooled since my num...

I will report back on the latest in this saga then. Pat I got my new card reader and all is well! i have teh las...
