Re: Masks leaking airfit f20 and f30
Finding the right mask is like finding the right pair of jeans. I used the InnoMed Hybrid Full Face mask for almost a decade. Switched to the ResMed Airfit F30i in March, and it's really working well. With the new machine I got last week and this mask, I've had 3 nights in a row with zero leaks. Goo...

Re: New Cpap User - Not sure where to go from here
Pugsy, honey, you're the best!
Just got a new ResMed AirSense10 & needed the clinical menu. Typed in "clinical menu" in the search bar, & sure enough, you already had a link to what I needed. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE
FREE TO A GOOD HOME! Remstar Plus. Complete with power cord, 2 hoses, carrying case, instruction book. This was my sister's second-hand back-up unit, so I don't know anything about it except that it's one of the tanks that will never die. No bells & whistles, but still functional. Located in Garland...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE
I've been cleaning out closets & realized I have some masks that might be useful to somebody. These are frames, masks, and pillows for the Hybrid masks. New, never used. I have:
4 frames
2 large masks
3 small masks
5 sets large nasal pillows
All free, just let me know where to send 'em.
Thanks!

I think it's so exciting that you'll be able to go outside on your own with your new gear. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures.

Re: Recently Diagnosed - Finding it difficult to sleep with CPAP
Many people have trouble at first, but it's worth working through the problems. Generally, if you're struggling with your therapy, the problem is the wrong machine, wrong settings, wrong mask, or issues outside of apnea. The S9 is a good machine, but knowing your settings could help us figure out ho...

Re: clinical manual Resmed M series
Den, honey, I couldn't find anything on her machine except RESmed M Series. It's probably the basic model with no data. My friend hasn't taken her apnea seriously, but now that she's had 2 stents & gotten a wonderful husband who is concerned for her health she's taking steps to get her apnea under c...

Re: Concerns: Having Surgery, Taking CPAP
The hospital has a procedure in place for patients who bring their caps. When my sister had surgery several years ago, they checked her machine (typical for safety), then I put it back in it's case until my sister needed it after she was moved to her room. Please try not to worry about dangerous bac...

Re: New Mask came today
It sounds like your therapy is going well, because your AHI is lowering. Good for you!
Finding the best mask is kinda like finding the perfect pair of shoes because you might have to try many, many styles before you find the best one. I hope the new one works out for you.

This forum is so helpful!
Friends, When I was first diagnosed with apnea, back in 2009, I was active on this forum for a couple of years. My therapy was going well, life intervened, & I stopped posting here, although I occasionally stopped by to see what was happening. Several of my friends have been diagnosed with apnea, & ...

Re: Panic???
This panicky feeling is quite common in the early days of therapy. It might be easiest to turn the ramp off. This means your machine would start out at 9; some people do well with this, others don't. If you decide to continue with the ramp, you can move the starting pressure to something closer to 9...

Re: How long till you started noticing a difference?
"noticing a difference" is different for everybody. Some of us are able to notice real improvement almost immediately; for me, it was the morning after my titration. Others take longer. It depends on many things, including how optimal your therapy is. Don't be disheartened if you don't "see results"...

clinical manual Resmed M series
My friend has recently had another sleep study & has started trying to use her old Resmed M series machine. She has no manuals for it, and I couldn't find anything online to help. She doesn't even know what all the buttons do. The people at her sleep study center told her it was fine to use, as it w...

Re: California CPAP law question
Omni, honey, their statement is just absurd. While I no longer live in California, and god knows the laws about insurance are vast and arcane, it just can't be true that any item you have legally purchased now requires you pay rent to them. It might be time to have them speak to your attorney, or fo...
