Re: Newbie feeling tired
Sometimes it does take a while to really notice being less tired. I think that some of us go through a period when our body sort of says, "HEY! Why didn't you give me what I needed before? I'd better take advantage and sleep a lot in case you take it away again!!!" I believe this would be called re...

The spam button has some conditions, one of which is that it can be lost for misuse. However, each of us may edit our own posts. Here is the original spam button thread: Johnny Goodman Fights Spam! Modifications have been made since then, but are generally minor. The spam problem has been greatly r...

Silver, you have joined right in and given back as well...or is that paid it forward? Thanks for helping to keep this forum still a great place to be. We are all better together than we are separately, aren't we?

Re: Womens hormone cycles and OSA
RE: Estrogen I hope that this will be useful information for someone. I have: PCOS; family history of breast cancer; hysterectomy/salpingoophorectomy (yep, took the ovaries too) for endometriosis in 1997; and then participated in the STAR Trial (a Study of Tamoxifen And Raloxifene). Since I wasn't ...

Re: pets
... As far as blowinga fan in the face of a cat, that will not work. CPAP works because the insode of the airway is pressurized in respect to the outside. A fan pressiurizes both inside and outside the airway. However, the main reason it would not work is it would annoy the cat to no end! That was ...

Re: pets
T-bone, are you sure that cat hasn't undertaken the shower in an attempt to SAVE you from the water? Then, cats being clean animals, he may have decided that the shower actually WAS a rather good idea. What happens should there be a day when you may shower later than your accustomed time? Does he l...

Re: Survived my titration - thanks for the support!
Gerald makes some good points, but I would like to add that the various brands of machines name them differently. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h276/DianneOnly/wink3.gif ResMed calls its C-flex type feature (they do differ SLIGHTLY) EPR, for something like "expiratory pressure relief". I think ...

Re: Mask Help
How about trying a Dreamseal for your Breeze? Maybe the nasal pillows aren't your best option. You only need a different assembly to fit into your existing headgear, although it is just a tad more for a whole new Breeze . I really loved the Dreamseal, as it wasn't big like other nasal masks. Howeve...

Re: Survived my titration - thanks for the support!
Some people are actually titrated using an APAP wide open (which is a whole 'nother topic), so I cannot see how you would harm anything by using the machine sooner. You would be confirming the titration pressure by having more information. Your results might be a bit better, even, if you are used t...

Re: Domino's
You folks are shameless! It is sad that two young employees with so little common sense can wreak such havoc on a business. And, I am personally betting that the Domino's Pizza chain is going to have even more rigorous health standards, NOT to mention the local franchise. I wouldn't be too surprise...

Re: Best mask strap covers?
Well, there are some options but I have only tried one of them. We have a forum member here (as you may already know) who makes them: http://www.padacheek.com Reasons that make the Pad-a-Cheeks my choice: 1. Large choice of colors in solids and patterns for fleece, silk, cotton or whatever fabrics ...

Re: Help for a n00b with issues!!
... As far as what he said came out of his sleep studies, I'm just going by this, but as you rightly point out, things can change: I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a couple years ago. I had two sleep studies that showed I had OSA. Given Mark's justifiable anxiety about getting good treatment and ex...

Re: Help for a n00b with issues!!
You are probably right, Rested Gal. You usually are! However, do we really know exactly what is going on with BrandyMB? We do not have knowledge of the results of the sleep studies. Without software analysis to show that obstructive apnea events are under control, and with the problems falling asle...

Thank you for your story, 40Winks. I read every word. You could teach a class in how to handle the system...and maybe you just did so! I am sorry about your mother. That really is another situation requiring fortitude and knowledge, as well as cooperative medical personnel. We had a similar experie...

Re: Help for a n00b with issues!!
... I tried my new mask last night. Took me a bit of time to get it not to leak, it didnt in the therapists office but in bed it did. Took an Ambien CR again. Laid there and finally fell asleep... for one hour. Woke up (I know!) and took it off so I could sleep.. if thats what you want to call it. ...
