Re: Pulse Oximeters Oscar
Any chance OSCAR can be modified to accept EMAY data? I believe there's a way to modify the .csv it so that it can be read by the oximitry wizard but I don't know what the file layouts are.

Re: My CPAP machine wakes me up with pulsating air
I haven't had this machine long and its the first time I've never had flow data to look at. It looks like I have a similar pattern to OP and i too am bradycardic (mid 20s - 30s bpm while sleeping.) Perhaps Resmed doesnt filter that low? I would link an image but imgur doesnt allow new logins from so...

Re: My CPAP machine wakes me up with pulsating air
How much elasticity is in the system i.e. tube, mask etc? Could a resonance pulse be occurring?

Re: PULSE RATE (Am I at Deaths Door)
When my dad had a slow heart rate, they were worried he might get clots forming inside his heart due to overly slow blood flow. (Or something like that, second hand information.) I was worried about that too, but the cardiologist said that as long as the blood is moved out of the heart regularly th...

p.s. can you post the SPO2 portion of your oximetry graph? I'm curious to see if you have any desaturations.

Re: PULSE RATE (Am I at Deaths Door)
I too have idiopathic asymptomatic bradycardia. (i.e. "we don't know why your heart beats slow but you have no symptoms") Sleep rates average lower 30s. Daytime rate is about 40. I have had the whole heart workup including nuclear stress test, ultrasound, ECG, treadmill stress test and no problems h...

Re: Do I have sleep apnea? ** Video's Included **
Hi, your videos are not comfortable to watch and I can imagine that you feel like crap. It's not possible to diagnose a person based on a few minutes of video and I'm sure that may be why people here are reluctant to give advice. I did not notice that you stop breathing at any time for longer than 1...

Re: cpaptalk.com reunion?
It would be pretty difficult, given that the forum is worldwide. The geographic center of our locations, I'm willing to bet, is Hawaii. If I drilled a hole through the center of the Earth, I'd come out off the coast of Hawaii ! and I don't look like my avatar either... at least I haven't for 48 yea...

Re: Oximeter Results Help? Newbie Train Snorer
Stokes... not strokes! It's a breathing pattern caused by low output from the heart. Here are some articles. http://chestjournal.chestpubs.org/content/124/5/1627.full http://pats.atsjournals.org/cgi/content/short/5/2/226 Not trying to worry you, I just personally feel that the sleep aspect of the wa...

Re: Oximeter Results Help? Newbie Train Snorer
I have to respectfully disagree with Hose crusher. I think you do have a case for a sleep study. AFAIK the official definition of an apnea is 4% desaturation. And I see plenty of those. They do not go below 88% but they are still desaturations. And with heart damage there may be cheyne stokes respir...

Re: Giving away cpap machine
Hi Dave. Firstly you're not going to find much support here for you giving up your machine! If you were prescribed a machine that means you had to have more than 5 apneas per hour, or your sleep is disrupted enough to warrrant treatment. Do you have the results of your test available? It may be that...

Re: OSA+Hypersomnia=unbearable UPDATE
Some people are very sensitive to pressure changes. But try the bed first before changing the machine. One variable at a time will help differentiate what is and is not important for your sleep.

Re: How to interpret my data?
Couple of additional questions/observations about CA. I'm recording CA values of 2.6 - 7.6 plus an outlyer of of 12.1. Can anyone give me some feel for what this value should be? E.g., with AHI I've found that < 5 is OK; around 15 is concerning; 30 and above is really bad. So, how serious are value...
