Re: Final Peace Offering to Link
Hey folks, No need for any of you to leave or feel uncomfortable. Obviously, my posts have upset enough people that my presence around here is no longer desired. The purpose of this thread was to attempt to put the entire mess behind, and restate the original apology. In addition, I was offering a w...

Re: new script?
Unless a doctor writes "lifetime" on a prescription, I do believe that there is an expiration date, subject to state laws. It doesn't take a sleep doctor to write a script if they know you and can do so in good conscience and medical judgement. Either of my two doctors ( GP, and IM doctor) are willi...

Re: Sleep doc says APAP not medically necessary
Bob, I think the consensus here is to get another doctor. If you as a patient think there is a chance that the apap is more beneficial to you than any other mode of therapy, you have a right to pursue that. I will join the other folks who say find a doctor who is more concerned with your needs than ...

Final Peace Offering to Link
Here is my final offering to end this insanity, Link. I will not comment on any of your threads, or criticize your opinions or suggestions, whether or not I think they have credence. I will make no comments about you, either stated or implied. I am requesting that you do the same--in this way we wil...

Re: 26-year Old Man Dies During Sleep Study
Ummm... Could we perhaps take a time out? It's way to easy to misconstrue intent on a forum. (Been there, done that! ) Let's just focus on the purpose of the forum and admit that both of you want to do the same thing ... help others who are sharing some of the same struggles and victories. That's t...

Re: 26-year Old Man Dies During Sleep Study
If that were even close to the truth, it would not. A quick search yielded 27 messages you've posted this month in other threads. I haven't READ most of them...or commented on ANY. Maybe YOU should write for National Enquirer! You have a flair for gross exaggeration, and you seem to see sinister or...

Re: Thinking about getting a new CPAP (Auto?)
you'll need some way to read the data no matter which machine you go with. The exception is the Intellipap Auto, which uses smart codes. One may enter them into the code reader at cpap.com, or use the DeVilbiss website to read the data. The data may then be downloaded as .pdf files and saved No add...

Link C wrote Nope! Just the stuff that's egregiously inaccurate, like the above. There isn't enough time in the day to correct the mildly inaccurate. ("insists at" ??? Re: 26-year Old Man Dies During Sleep Study
Regarding the young man and the sleep study in question. I don't see how a severe apnea event or heart attack could explain the blood that was mentioned. My first thought after reading his mother's description of him was that maybe someone who didn't like him very much followed him and decided to h...

Re: 26-year Old Man Dies During Sleep Study
And let me say up front, I'm jest spekulating, but here goes. Maybe Brandon Harris always slept on his side or tummy due to his sleep apnea? And maybe the lab, following standard procedure, required him to sleep on his back? And maybe the higher severity of his apnea in the lab triggered a deadly e...

Re: 26-year Old Man Dies During Sleep Study
This isn't a headline. It is a topic. If you want to talk semantics (is that a big enough word for you?), be my guest. If you don't like the topic of a thread, simply don't click on it. Insulting people who are curious about this topic is NOT acceptable. Rooster was trying to post the facts of the ...

Re: 26-year Old Man Dies During Sleep Study
Did you quit learning after the fifth grade? I will post my SAT, GRE and GMAT scores if you will post any of your scores. But first you are going to have to make a five-figure bet. We can do verbal scores only if you prefer. Be glad to post scores, although I did not take the Gmat, as I was not a b...

Re: 26-year Old Man Dies During Sleep Study
And, in the interest of clarity, NOTHING in the headline is misleading or suggests the man died as a result of the sleep study. It is a National Inquirer type of headline. It heavily IMPLIES (big word for you) that the sleep study was connected with his death. Otherwise, it would not have been news...

Re: BiPAP ASV - Backup Power Question
My concerns re: noise are two-fold. First, my bedroom is right behind my garage. Second, my neighborhood is populated but extremely quiet at night (except for the coyotes when they all get going ). I didn't want to disturb my neighbors any more than I wanted to disturb myself. So the xpap battery i...
