Re: hose diameter
I wouldn't worry too much about the small hose diameter. (Fact mode) If it's 1.4 times as big as one nostril, then it's equal in cross section to both of them, and will provide no more resistance than your own nose. (Opinion mode) Plus, I don't think it's the volume of air that makes these tick, as ...

Wipes
I use baby shampoo for the occasional full wash of my mask, approximately monthly.
I bought some mask wipes from my DME, and they'll last me a while. Alcohol-free, made of cotton apparently. But $15 for one container.
So I was wondering: what wipes do y'all use on your masks?

Re: Wow--My FFM seals better when not washed daily!
I have recently stopped the before-bed face wash (Aveeno oatmeal bar -- sounds more like a snack, doesn't it?), and I've cut the mask wipedown (CPAP wipes from my DME) to once every 2 or 3 days. I too had inferred that zero oil was suboptimal. It seems to me that dry-on-dry slips around more. I stil...

I take option 3.
When I begin sleep on my back, the hose starts out below the chin and veering left towards the table and the BiPAP machine, in a U hanging over the floor; but when I turn onto my right side it often ends up swiveling to point out over my left cheek, hose now trailing "behind" my head. Despite all th...

D**n. Very sorry to hear (read) that. I'm relieved that you didn't need stitches.
However, you should consider the residual value of blackmailing your mom. Just a thought.
Sleep well.

The name of the thread is wrong, though. If you want to be accurate, it should be "cpap blows."

Re: Healthcare Reform What Would You Do
To the person who PM'd me earlier today: you were right. I recant my endorsement of APD. I am not going to read postings by someone who both thinks he's smarter than all conservatives, and calls honest people turds. Time to update my "foes" list. Bummer. I had really thought the guy was capable of c...

Re: WHISTLE
I also got some whistles and "oboe notes", especially with the Quattro's little ventilation grid. You may want to lower the humidifier setting a notch, if you are using one.

Re: Healthcare Reform What Would You Do
First thing I would do: limit punitive damage awards. This is because it's not just rich insurance companies that are greedy. There is plenty of greed to go around, including (but not limited to) ambulance-chaser attorneys, plaintiffs that hire them, politicians, Rich Americans, Middle Class America...

Re: Why not set the image on the profile ?
Good answer, Julie, but I will betcha the OP was making a "pre-spam" test post. It's characterized by a combination of inscrutable ID plus a nearly-but-not-quite-meaningful post. On some systems, even that is semi-automated, in which the spammer finds a keyword (such as "rainout") and then just post...

Re: OT: HE's a sick man, not a man of God.
Even in CBN's press release they say allegedly (bold emphasis mine)" Pam That word is not very meaningful in this day and age, in which the "suspect" in the plane "allegedly" tried to blow up his pants before being stopped by a Dutchman. Nowadays we use it to refer to known historical occurrences. ...

BUT don't you think that his comments regarding packs with the devil, etc. should not have been said considering all the horrible, horrible death and destruction Haiti has suffered? So when does one mention such things? If I were to throw a brick at my grandson and clonk (technical term) him on the...

I can't help wondering how this crew (CPAP-talkers) would have reacted to Jonah, Joel, Amos, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, and Jeremiah. My guess is, about the same. So, I took the time to look at the original clip, as opposed to the hatchet jobs by NBC, CBS, et al. You know, the one in which Robertson pa...

Re: How long did it take you to get your machine?
Not to brag -- after all, this isn't anything I achieved -- but I went in for the two-part sleep study (in a sleep center) on a Sunday evening; was titrated at about 2 AM; got up, showered, and saw the doctor Monday morning; met with the DME -- at the sleep center -- immediately afterward; and drove...
