Re: Airfit F10 vs. Quattro FX Nose Irritation
I used the QFX and then switched to the Air (same cushion) and have the F10 ordered. I use the Boomerang gel pads for occasional nose irritation, but had leak issues. I now put the gel pad between the two silicone layers over the nose area INSIDE the cushion and get the padding without the leaks .

Re: Quattro Air
I have been using the Air for several months and don't want to consider going back! The light weight and superior exhaust design are selling points (my wife won't want me back with the regular quattro or fx because of the wind). I did have leak problems for a while (I have a "Noble" nose), but fixed...

I don't know about the rest of you, but when the light goes off and I close my eyes, it doesn't much matter to me that the machine is grey.

Re: Review of Quattro AIR
I've been using the Air for about 6 weeks and really like the (lack of) weight and the improved venting. I sleep predominantly on my side, too, but have never had problems with blocking the vent. I sleep better knowing I won't be blowing my wife away if I'm facing her way. I have also added a below ...

Re: comparing resmed vpap s S8 and S9
I had an S8 Auto 25 for about four years before it had a meltdown (woke up smelling hot plastic). It was setup as straight bi-level and I had no capability to regularly monitor data, so I can't say much about the effectiveness, but the S9 I have now is much better. It is much quieter, and the machin...

Re: lincare complaints
I agree, it must be a location/local office thing. I switched to Lincare last year when my former company stopped participating in my insurance (without notice, of course). I have found them to be attentive, helpful, and accurate. They seem to be up to date on equipment options, though I must admit ...

Re: leaks appear after 4 hours of sleep
I too, get the wake up after 4 hours leaks (sometimes 3 or 5, but usually 4). I have found that taking off the mask, getting a drink of water (mouth is usually dry) going to the bathroom and then just putting the mask back on like I did at the beginning of the night usually works well. Most nights I...

Re: How long did it take before you knew cpap worked?
When I went in for my sleep study, it was not supposed to be a split, but the tech put a mask on me half-way through, saying she didn't feel like doing CPR that night. I could hardly wait for the Dr to contact me after the study, and the first night at home sealed the deal! The night before was also...

Re: Report on use of new padacheek anti-leak strap
A little more info - I don't know how well or if this strap would work on a nasal mask - it might work just fine. I found that the position shown on the Pad A Cheek site (over the ears) was not comfortable for me, and above the ears tended to cause the mask to ride up. I have been positioning it bel...

Poll: Do you use your mask as it came or with modifications
There are many masks available from many manufacturers, each trying to be the perfect mask for somebody, and manufacturers have doubtless spent many thousands in design and testing. As I was making yet another addition/modification to my current mask, and after reading here about many products (than...
