Re: Where to add oxygen to BIPAP
Mine is added at a "tee" where the hose attaches to the humidifier outlet from the BiPAP. I use a 25 foot tube for the oxygen, and have the concentrator in a large walk-in closet for noise isolation (it has HVAC outlet so it's not really much like a closet). I lay out the tubing each night as part o...

Re: New appreciation for mask liners
I, too, am sold on the pad-a-cheek liners. I have used them for my Quattro and now that I have a Quattro FX, can hardly wait for the FX version - right now I'm using the tee shirt fix, and agree that the pad-a -cheek is much superior.

Re: Homemade quatro fx sizing guide
I had a similar idea and made one from a 4x6 index card. Folded it in half lengthwise to cut out the oval for my XL nose, transfered the measurements, then held it up and checked in the mirror to verify the sizing. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_fBuIN9dEYHo/TTIwkeJtayI/AAAAAAAABzQ/hhaNsMQOnAo/DSC_0448.JPG No...

Re: trying the mirage quattro for the first time
Gee, I wish I'd read this months ago. I seem to have my Quattro under control now, but this is a great procedure and good advice. I, too, am planning to try the FX as soon as I can get one here.Janknitz wrote:Check out "Taming The Mirage Quattro" in my signature. It should help.
Thanks for the pointers!

Re: First look at Resmed Quattro FX
I had sent an email inquiry on the Resmed website about a week ago, and tonight got a reply. "Unfortunately, we are not privy to release date at this time for the Quattro FX. Please check back in on our website for updates, at http://www.resmed.com. So don't go asking Santa for one unless you live i...

Re: First look at Resmed Quattro FX
More information and videos are available at the Resmed website, but you have to tell them you are in a location other than the U.S. Try the link: http://www.resmed.com/au/products/quattro_fx/quattro-fx.html?nc=patients and click on the video link on the right side. Now, if we only knew when this wo...

Re: READ THIS POST!!!
I am 3 weeks post-op from open heart surgery, (aortic aneurysm and valve replacement) and doing well. When I went into the hospital I told EVERYBODY I talked to about anything, that I used BiPAP, and had my machine with me, and would be using it. As soon as I was off of the ventilator, my wife broug...

Re: omg!!!! it does work
I've tried many of the items mentioned in this hilarious thread, but I might have to draw the line. Guys (and Ladies) try the Pad A Cheek mask liner - reduces nose bridge irritation, lessens leaks and rude noises, is easily washable and very comfortable. No embarrassing purchases at the check-out li...

Re: are you fully recovered after CPAP or still tired?Poll pleas
I'm in the "cured after the first night" category, and have been treated for almost 14 months. Have had some mask issues to work through, but definitely worth the effort.

Re: ResMed H4I Hummidifier question
I top mine off every night with fresh distilled water, and rinse it only when I see any crud floating around. Been doing this for a little over a year, so far. I started washing it out weekly as directed, and using fresh water every night, but quickly lost interest.

Re: Nose irritation problems
I had similar problems and stopped using the Quattro for a while, substituting Liberty and or Hybrid. But after finding the Pad A Cheek products, I am back to the Quattro. The first miracle product is the Nosebridge Protector -- http://www.padacheek.com/PAC_Nosebridge.html - comfort after the first ...

Re: Resmed Quattro Full Face
The Quattro was my first mask, and caused a giant sore on the bridge of my nose. I switched to a Liberty and a Hybrid, but constantly struggled with straps and bands and various things to try to keep enough upward pressure to seal the nasal pillows. I tried the Quattro again after several months and...

SNAKE ATTACK!!
Last night as I walked near our house, I was attacked by a huge python. As we struggled on the ground, I managed to grab it just behind its head - just like we've all seen on TV. As I held it at arm's length, it was writhing around and making a loud noise, almost a roaring. When I woke up, I found t...

Any experience with Jump Starter and S8 VPAP Auto?
Does anyone have any experience using a "jump starter" type battery as a power source along with an S8 VPAP Auto 25 machine? The machine has a DC input as well as the usual AC, but it requires 24 volts. ResMed offers a converter to change a normal 12 volt battery to 24 volt, but this is another $89....
