Re: salt in humidifier for congestion
Putting salt in the humidifier sounds like a really bad idea to me - warm air blows over the water to evaporate it, so not much salt would get into the air. Whatever salt did get in would be very hard on the equipment - salt is very corrosive and it would collect in all the nooks and crannies. What ...

Re: Hello.. I have a few questions...
I am most concerned about the 3-4 hours of sleep per night - are you setting aside 8+/- hours for sleep and all that you can sleep is 3-4? Or is your schedule so tight that you only have 3-4 hours available for sleep? If it is the first, then you are on the right track to pursue another sleep study ...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Restless Leg Syndrome
I had PLM (periodic limb movement) which is related or a variant of restless leg syndrome. Totally gone (as far as I know) with CPAP usage.

Re: first night failure help!!!
ooohh - that hurts. I remember those days. Stay with it, it does get better! The nasal pillows didn't work well for me - I switched to a nasal mask and it works much better. The nasal pillow just felt too invasive, and it would get dislodged during the night and not easy to readjust just right. Also...

Re: My S9 AutoSet arrived today
I do have the S9 humidifier, but it came with the plain slimline hose. It was quite an ordeal to get this through Apria, insurance, Dr, etc and I was quite happy to get the new machine. I may get the heated hose independently - my climate tends to be cold and dry.

Re: My S9 AutoSet arrived today
How is your S9 working out? Do you have the heated hose?
I just got mine yesterday, too and had a great night's sleep. Mine came with the standard slimline hose, and I am wondering about the heated hose.

I am current CPAP user, and long wondered if APAP might work better for me. I have a Dr's Rx for APAP. imagine the lure of the S9!

I wash my mask every morning as part of my morning routine and leave it in the shower to dry. I am just more comfortable with a really clean mask.

Re: I have a stuffy nose
I made it thru the night surprisingly well - I did the nasal wash, Ayrs gel, decongestant, and an extra pillow. On my todo list - get some Afrin and a full face mask. Thanks for your thoughts!

Is AFRIN a spray? I will try some tomorrow - too late & cold to go out tonight.

I have a stuffy nose
Along with sneezes and a sore throat & I have been mouth-breathing all day long. I am worried about sleeping tonight because I only have a nasal mask. I plan to do a nasal wash and take some Sudafed & hope for the best. Anyone have good ideas about this?
