Auto is slowly not working

I have not been on the forum for a while. I am still having problems with the auto shut off. I am still using the Zest nasal mask that I first started out with. It is the only mask that I have ever used. For almost a year everything worked fine. Took the equipment to Apria and they "worked" on it. S...

Re: Preparing to cpap

Emilia ~ Hello and welcome! Who in Florida do you go to? I would really love to know. My cpap experience was very much different than yours. Not too good. My Cigna ins. only contracts out to Apria Healthcare and sometimes they can be a bear to work with. Listen to the forum folk because they know ST...

Re: Why is it necessary to have a support team?

You all are very correct in giving thumbs up to this forum. My ENT doc does not know much about CPAP, just surgery to try and fix the apnea. No physician can know everything even in their specialty. I have learned so much here that it is very reassuring knowing that one forum folk will know the answ...

No Breath

I woke up this morning gasping for breath. I even felt claustrophobic. I have been 100% compliant for this year. (Strange but it has been one year ago today that I started CPAP!) I have never had this problem.. I have another post running - about my ResMed S8 Auto has not been shutting off when the ...

Auto not Auto

I have a ResMed S8 Auto and the auto treatment air flow will not shut off when the mask is removed. This happened in January and I took it to Apria and after a 1/2 hour the RT (real trouble ) stated that after the mask is removed it will still keep blowing a small amount of air to cool the machine. ...

Re: What does your insurance allow/pay for CPAP and gear?

I think most of the problem is all about contracts. Once a provider gets the bid they can charge what they want to and the Insurance companys (the high ups) put on blinders even when the contracts end. Some of my home care patients get zip from their companies while others get so much stuff that I s...

HI numbers

My Hi numbers have been going up too high. They are 5 to 5.7 when they have been running 0.3 to 1.9. Any suggestions? The AI's are 0 to 0.1 Thanks

Re: My sleep doc fired me today...LOL

I do think that nurse needs to be called down for that! Of course I get negative response from my peers due to the fact that I actually listen to what the patients say.. Duhh..you just read the chart and do not know a thing about how individuals respond to the same treatments. How do I know this?? I...

Re: My sleep doc fired me today...LOL

I cannot believe this happened to you! This doc is unbelievable. So many problems come with a patient's Non-compliance than anything else. Just remember that the "better than everyone, because I have more education than the rest of you" docs put their pants on one leg at a time, just like the rest o...

Re: Being Hospitalized

Judy, my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I agree with Ozij you must have someone to stay with you when you cannot speak for yourself. Sometimes the staffing to patient ratio makes good nursing care impossable! Don't blame the nurses they are doing the best that can be done. Hopefully by the time ...
