APAP with oxygen and travel

Haven't posted in quite awhile, but I have a question some of you might be able to help me with. In addition to APAP, I have to use 3L of oxygen at night. Having a big bulky heavy concentrator has made camping and long trips quite complicated. We also tend to want to stay in campgrounds that do not ...

Where does all the air go?

I've been using an APAP machine for about 3 years now. I've had a touch of a cold recently and had to take off the nose cushion to blow my nose. I didn't turn off the machine to do this and I thought "Wow, that's a lot of air blowing out of that tube and going down into my lungs!" Then I began to wo...

You will eventually need to replace just about everything. Most insurance will pay for a new complete new mask every 6 months. And I would recommend that you at least get new head straps that often. I use the simple cushion and have also had the elbow break several times. I think I've finally learne...

Sorry you did not get more response to your plea for help!! The way I use Poligrip Strips is as follows: at about the mid point, cut part of the wa through, not quite reaching the other side. Bend into a V shape. Thoroughly lick bottom lip. Place V-shaped strip onto lip. Thoroughly lick upper lip. F...

I've been using the Poligrip Strips for a very long time and don't really have much clean up trouble. I start at one edge and sorta roll it toward the middle, then go to the other side and do the same and just pull the rest of the way. I actually just use toilet paper or tissue to wipe off my mouth....

I have no doubt that I do not open my mouth, but I frequently have a dry mouth -- so frequently, in fact, that it is ruining my teeth. I use Poligrip Strips to keep lips together and I frequently check the leak rate numbers on my Encore Pro data and they are exactly where they should be for my mask ...

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this thread. My husband helped me drill the hole in the brim of the visor following BadBreath's directions. I also cut down the brim quite a bit to keep it from getting pushed around during side sleeping. I added some foam on the forehead part for extra c...

I feel really bad that I cannot remember his name, but a guy on here lab ratted new headgear for the CL2 which I have copied and it is terrific. He used a baseball cap, cut a hole in the brim, inserted the CL2 tubing through it and that was about it. I've been using a visor version for quite some ti...

I used the Claritan D for several (probably 8 - 10) years before it became an over the counter drug. Then switched to Allegra D and it was not nearly as effective. I was about to try Zyrtec about 6 months ago when my doctor told me I shouldn't be taking the "D" part. So I tried the "plain" Claritan ...

No, I do not mouth breathe. I've used Polident Strips since the second night and have almost no leak problems. One thing I have noticed is that before APAP I was quite a drooler. Now I don't, even during a couple of naps when I did not use the strips. I have Encore Pro and my leak numbers are right ...

CPAP is ruining my teeth

Had my regular 6 month teeth cleaning yesterday and they took bite wing x-rays that showed 8 spots that have to be filled that were NOT there 6 months ago. The dentist asked me if any of my medicines had changed that could possibly be causing my mouth to be dry. I said no, but what about being on CP...

In the days BEFORE xPAP, I talked in my dreams quite a bit. It wasn't just an occasional word, either. I would expound on the weirdest subjects as if I was a college professor. There didn't seem to be any subject that I didn't know everything about -- as long as I was asleep!! I can remember beginni...

I can't help much with the ear problem, but am wondering at what pressures you have your APAP set. I think it is usually recommended to try and keep the range as narrow as possible, usually about 3 cms either side of your titrated number. Example: I was titrated at 12 cm and my range is set at 9 to ...

Thank you so much for your responses. I did try wearing the mask slightly looser last night and made an effort to keep my arm down a little lower. My jaws do not hurt as much today, so maybe that will help overall. I also checked Encore Pro and the numbers were pretty much as usual. The leak rate wa...

My jaws hurt

For the past couple of weeks, I've been waking up with my jaws hurting. I don't feel like I'm clamping my teeth or grinding them, but I do use Poligrip Strips to keep my lips together. I'm a side sleeper and am beginning to wonder if the PapPillow, which sorta rests on top of my arm, is pushing too ...
