I think at 62 degrees rainout is guaranteed with the Swift and probably almost any other interface. Along with all the other folks I think that using the heated hose, turning the humidifier down to 2 or 3 and lowering the unit to almost on the floor will make it manageable. If I can get my room cold...

I am having no problems. I am using Firefox 1.5.0.8. I had a spasm like that about 2 or 3 weeks ago but then it just cleared itself after one day.

I am a great fan of the Swift as well. I started out with the Swift and then cycled through far more interfaces that I am willing to confess to finally settling on the Swift since it has worked the best for me. It does take fiddling to get right. First - larger pillows are better than smaller. As se...

No, I haven't thrown it out. Certainly, I'll give the soaking a shot. If it can extend the life that would be good. The new headgear/barrel reduced leaks to essentially zero, over the last 4 days, which I found amazing. When I used the new barrel (after a vinegar soak and good cleaning) the pillows ...

Insight on Swift and Leaks

Just an FYI to folks out there. I have been using the same Swift Headgear for about 10 months and the same Swift barrel and related parts for about 6 months. Recently my leak rate began climbing and didn't seem fixable. I swapped out the entire setup for new and leaks dropped to absolutely normal. T...

That is the "best" (read worst) story I have heard yet. I can't imagine what response I might get if I walked into my local Walgreen's and showed them a prescription for a CPAP. The end result might look a little like a nuclear meltdown. Hang in there. Do you have a smart card and reader so you can ...

Laura (aka Rested Gal), I too want to share my gratitude. Particuarly for your calm, thoughtful, considerate approach to contributing the vast understanding you have of what we all struggle with and what solutions may work for one person as opposed to another. You have consistently been level headed...

I would not stick anything in my nose without medical advice and direction. I just wouldn't. Have you seen an Ear Nose and Throat physician (ENT)? Do you use a saline irrigation? When I need it, it works for me. When I first started on therapy back in January one or the other of my nasal passage wou...

I'm not familiar with how to set it, but the guy at the medical equipment place preset it to 8 with a warmup period starting at 4, according to my perscription. Your "warmup" period is called "RAMP" meaning it Ramps the pressure up over time to your prescribed setting. I, and many others, can not t...

Greyhound, what you say makes a lot of sense although I do have one gripe about the Swift (yeah, Snoredog, I have a gripe about the Swift ) when it leaks it is extremely irritating for some reason. If it gets into a noticeable leak mode it will wake me up and keep waking me up until I fix it. One mo...

I have been using the Swift for about 10 months now, quite happily I might add, and have found that the sort of leaks you describe were much more frequent when the headgear was too tight. It seems that if the pillow are cinched up against the nares too tightly they lose the ability to flex and keep ...

I second what CollegeGirl said. Take it all and extras if you have them. I just came back from my first weeklong road trip with the xPAP and it was fine. I had a liter bottle of distilled water, a wire clothes hanger to jury rig a hose holder and, an extension cord. I found it pretty easy to set up ...

Well, we almost don't have a choice in the matter. Jerks exist everywhere. At different points in time we have all been jerks. Heck, I've been a jerk within this forum. One, or more, of the points I was trying to make is that: * If we wake up to our occasional jerkdom we do not have to persist in it...
