The IntelliPAP retains data in the flash memory when it is unplugged.
I leave my CPAP plugged in all of the time; it would switch over to battery power if it were unplugged.

Re: Do You Keep Backup Parts?
I have a drawer full old masks and parts. I also keep a few new masks on hand and have a few backup machines. When I travel, I put a spare mask, power cord, and hose in my checked luggage. I carry my CPAP prescription with me when I travel in case I need to obtain a machine or mask on a weekend in a...

Re: computer UPS for cpap machine?
A computer type UPS is fine for powering a CPAP machine, although the battery won't last very long, it would be fine for power hits and short outages. Heated humidifiers are a different matter because they draw LOTS of power and will greatly shorten the length of time that the UPS will provide power...

Re: For Those Who Like To Nap
I wouldn't even hazard a nap of any sort without CPAP; even if it were possible for me to nap without events, I would feel naked without my mask. I don't think that I could even sleep without air blowing on my face.

Re: Mac-compatible software
I use Linux both at home and on my work desktop workstation. I use my work Windows laptop to run my CPAP software -- and that is about all that it is used for.

Re: Sex with cpap user?
My partner and I have never considered my CPAP to an issue and I don't know that it has ever affected our intimacy. Yes, it is a hassle, but most medical devices are a hassle of some sort.

There is an organization called Awake in America that helps to provide CPAPs to people who cannot afford them. http://www.awakeinamerica.org

Re: New machine and mask $$$$$
I just ordered three ComfortGel masks from cpap-supply.com (an online DME) for $65 each, including shipping. The only hassle is that I had to fax them my script this time because they have started requiring scripts for masks.
