Alarms-who needs 'em?
The R/T that set up my Bipap told me that she disabled all of the alarms. She said that it was her experience that the alarms were more of a nuisance to a person trying to sleep than they were helpful. Since my own experience is very limited (one month now) I wanted to ask here what your varying exp...

EPAP/IPAP is 13/17cm Average breath rate: 14.9 bpm; min/max: 14/1...

Re: First night with BiPAP S/T
Second night went much, MUCH better. I slept most of the night. I did wake up a few times needing to adjust the mask, but that was mostly because I was on my side and had pushed the mask to the side of my face with the pillow. I did pull the hose off the machine twice, I think the sudden drop in pre...

Re: First night with BiPAP S/T
I do mouth breath, right now the idea of taping my mouth is not appealing-I wear a mustache and my dog don't recognize me and bites me when I shave it off

First night with BiPAP S/T
It didn't go to well. The machine was fine, it was the mask that didn't agree with me. I simply could not get it to seal on my nose, had air blowing in my eyes all night, didn't get much (if any) sleep. Went in to work, boss asked me how the new "Darth Vader" mask went. Told him "not good", he told ...

Just brought home my new BiPAP S/T
Just wanted to let everyone know I just got my new machine/mask etc.
I haven't got the software yet, but I figured it would not hurt to wait a bit and let the machine build a bit of a history first.
Can't wait for tonight

Re: along comes yet another Newbie...with Complex Central Apnea
Talked to my GP's office today. He did write me a script for a BPAP S/T as was recommended by the sleep lab. Also talked to me insurance company, they need a "medical necessity" letter from my GP to justify the BPAP. Also, it looks like I'm gonna need to go "In NetworK" for my machine & mask. At lea...

Carbonman, I hadn't thought of a sweet bullet before, but if it works I'll try it. Mr. Capers thanx for sharing your experience with me, it does help. I'll be sure to add what equipment I'm provided with to my profile when I finally get it. Thank you for the warm welcome junie and DreamDiver. While ...

Re: along comes yet another Newbie...with Complex Central Apnea
Thank you for the kind words SleepyT. Rooster thanks for the advice (which I did follow-not always an easy thing for me if you know what I mean ) and the link. Just my luck that I'd end up requiring the most expensive type of machine made, but if that's what I need then I'm gonna have to "bite the b...

along comes yet another Newbie...with Complex Central Apnea
Hi all, This is my first post here so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 43, and I think I'm about to be diagnosed with apnea. My wife has been telling me that I often stop breathing during the night and pushing me to talk to my doc about it so I did. He ordered the first study, the a titration and...
