Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start

Hello again. I called the DME today to ask about switching my mask. I also asked about a machine that collected more data. The tech said that the machines only record compliance, nothing else (she spoke as though there were no machines that collected more data). Since my machine is only on loan, I w...

Re: Outraged, Hurt, and a Little Scared!

Wow, sorry you had such a bad experience. That assistant, or whatever he is, appears to know NOTHING about sleep apnea. I'm so glad you got a referral in the end. I'm not sure what the protocol is with where you will get your test, but I would think that they will contact you with the date of your t...

Re: Dizzy

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions and advice. This forum is amazing; so much knowledge. Compared to what I have been reading here, I was told relatively little about CPAP machines, types of them, things you might run up against, etc. I'm so glad I found it.

Dizzy

Hello. I just finished my fourth night trialling CPAP machine. Slept pretty good from 11:00 till 8:00. When I tried to roll over to switch machine off, I felt dizzy and feel back on the bed, like I almost fainted. Then same thing when I tried to get out of bed. Had to sit there for a bit. Still was ...

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start

Hello again. My machine is a respironics REMstar plus. My mask is a ResMed face Mask. I started out at 7 last night, and though I still found myself "not breathing" a few times at first, I think I slept for about 6 1/2 hours straight, which is like a miracle to me. Didn't even get up to go to the wa...

Wow............thanks to all above. I'm with you, NaomiTa. I can't wait either to get my life back, and have the energy, physical and mental, to deal with all those things that I used to do without even thinking. I'm beginning to see that there is hope after all!!!!!!!

Re: What to expect in the beginning

Hello I am new. Found this forum tonight. Wow I am so grateful to have landed here. Already I have been encouraged and learned a lot. I especially appreciate the above comments re: how long it takes to feel the benefits (have been using my machine 2 days). I have read so many testimonials and heard ...

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start

Hello. I just found this site and I am really glad. Looks like I can learn a lot here. I just started using my CPAP two days ago. Was diagnosed with sleep apnea after an overnight study. The doctor said it was moderate. He started me at 7 on my machine. I noticed that as I am falling asleep I stop b...
