I recommend that you ask the DME if they have an Activa mask that you can try. For those who don't like pillows, the Activa really does seem to seal the best. Just don't let the DME fit it too tightly, the Activa works best when it is loose and the CPAP pressure blows out the bellows section to mold...

I don't have a copy of the manual but here's what someone else posted as instructions to change the settings. I saved a copy in case I ever needed it but I forgot to save the username of the original poster. - Turn on the HC234. - Enter programming mode by holding down the "RAMP" (top) button and th...

Actually there is one small but interesting difference between the two modes. Using Encore Pro in AFLE mode gives you a nice spreadsheet like chart that shows things like AHI, Flow limits, SI, etc for the all pressures from 4 to 20. Of course with the same max. and min. settings the only results wil...

Thanks for the reply Sleepy-in-AL. I think I'm logged in this time so my profile should show that I have a Remstar Auto with the integrated heated humidifier. I like the machine except for that the humidifier has to be turned on seperately every time the machine is turned on (I've forgotten a couple...

Re: leak stopper for my CF2 :D

i tried something on a whim that occurred to me as i was getting supplies the other day, there are some approximately 2.5" wide elastic straps with velcro on the ends that are used to secure wires, surgical tubing, iv's and stuff to your arms or legs, and i found out that it actually works really g...

Hello everyone. The universal thread through this is mouth leaks . You have to stop them. As numerous folks have said, a gaping mouth makes for a gigantic leak the machine can not compensate for and you are not getting, any, nil, zero, zilch, therapy. Keeping the mouth closed somehow - with tape, P...

I have been sneezing off and on with a runny nose and watery eyes since. I have tried to be very compliant. I have nearly 50 hrs this first week. But it has been a real struggle with the sneezing, watery eyes and clear runny nose. I called the place that set the machine up for me and they had never...

While waiting for the heated tube, you can try insulating your present hose. I spiral wrapped mine with an old fleece muffler I had. It helped but doesn't work as well as the Ausie heated tube.

Another option is to use Evernote. http://www.evernote.com It's free and it's a great way to clip and save parts of or all of a webpage. You can also go into the program later and organize the clips into catagories. If you use Firefox, you can also get an extension for Evernote to make it even easie...

I tried this last night also. It acctually worked quite well. I have a full beard and mustache so I've never tried taping and I've had what felt like light mouth leaks since the beginning of my xpap therapy. Anyway, I used the Walgreen's generic version of fixodent and it sealed my lips together all...

I think it was Rested Gal that reccommended the "Shallow" size for most people without a very prominent nose. I size out to a medium on most nasal masks and the 'Shallow 'Activa is my "go to" mask (it's what I use when the pillow systems just aren't working for me for some reason). BTW the sizing wi...
