Re: Help! Mask hurting front teeth.
My PT's husband delivered nasal pillows that I thought would be the answer. It didn't stay on my head and I felt I wasn't getting enough air. I too have problems with my teeth. I switch back & forth between a nasal mask (Comfortgel Blue) and nasal pillows (Swift FX). The nasal pillows work great fo...

Re: Oxygen tubing connectors
I used to have several tropical fish tanks, all being airated by a single pump. I ran the air hoses to the tanks using hose connectors that are readily available at any pet store. You can find what you need, and it'll be a lot cheaper than the medical supply stores. You can also pick up air hoses by...

Re: DME/Insurance snafu, I have to pay for it!
~UPDATE~ I decided to fight the bill. Not for the $14, but for the principle. It wasn't my fault they didn't get paid, it was theirs. I shouldn't have to pay for their mistakes. I called Apria, spoke with a rather nasty gentleman in their billing dept. He put me on hold several times to go "talk" t...

Re: DME/Insurance snafu, I have to pay for it!
Tell them that you will pay the $14, but will be transfering to a different DME for future supplies. I'll bet they shape up quickly.....If they don't... make the change. That's exactly what I did with my LAST DME over a $24 bill! I fought them for MONTHS over the bill before switching to Apria. My ...

DME/Insurance snafu, I have to pay for it!
I get a bill in the mail from Apria. (everyones "favorite" DME ) They say I owe them $14 for filters from my last supply order. My insurance pays 100% on my supplies, so I shouldn't have any out-of-pocket expenses. I call Apria to see if they made a mistake sending me a bill. They tell me my insuran...

Re: SOftGel Mask Squeaks
How about trying a little bit of liquid dish soap? (or liquid hand soap)
It'll stop the squeek, and if you're not happy with it, it's easy enough to completely clean off.

Re: tooth extraction and cpap
Last Thursday, 9/5, I had TWO teeth pulled. (#29 & #30) Five hours latter I went to bed with my mask on. Slept like a baby, no problems whatsoever. I've had a lot of dental work done, and the PAP itself never caused me any problems. There were times when I had to switch from my nasal mask to nasal p...

Re: Your sleep doctor's most inane statement
Doc: "Any problems?" Me: "Nope" Doc: "OK, see ya' next year." This is honestly how my appointments with my sleep doc go. I go there once a year to renew my prescription for supplies. WHY do they go soooooo smoothly? It's because of this forum, and all the WONDERFUL people on it!!! Because of all you...

Re: Gall bladder issues
No connection between gall bladder & sleep apnea. I had my gall bladder removed this past July (07/12). All I have to show for it is, 4 small red dots. One in my navel, one several inches above that, and two on my right side. The surgery was done as an out-patient. I went in the hospital at 8 am, an...

. And I've had my machine for nineteen months You might want to CALL your insurance (Aetna) and double check that you don't already own your machine. Nineteen months of rental, with no end in sight, doesn't sound right to me. Most rentals are 13 months or LESS. After that, you own it outright. I us...

Re: Newbie - Nasal Pillow is trying to crush my nose!
For what it's worth, I alternate between pillows & nasal masks. When I use the nasal, I have the hose going over my head. When I first started using the pillows, I tried doing the same thing, and I was crushing my nose!!! In the light of day, I saw the problem. With the hose over my head, it pushed ...
