Re: 3 years of CPAP
Sometimes cpap machines can only do so much. I suggest a program of weight loss, moderate exercise, maybe yoga/meditation, plus I'd try to develop new positive way of thinking about life. Maybe you're just addicted to napping because it helps you escape from the 'real' world. I'm not trying to be h...

Re: Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy
I agree you need to find underlying causes, but why don't you want to try stimulants in the meantime? The amphetamines can certainly create problems but they would try provigil first which is a relatively benign drug and could make a big difference in your quality of life. Didn't want them because ...

Re: Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy
Well, if you had a data capable machine and software, you wouldn't need to wonder, but you can (obviously) leave it where it is at 12, try it at 10 - where so many of us are, get a new machine with software (not cheap, of course), get a new sleep study (even more expensive), or see if you can rent ...

Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy
Has anyone had their Tonsils and Adenoids out, and ended up either not needing CPAP anymore, or had their pressure reduced? I had mine out on June 20th, The surgeon told me not to use my CPAP for the first week, he didn't want any added pressure in my throat. Now I am on Day 14 still haven't used it...

Re: 3 years of CPAP
Hi, I've been reading your story on occasion. It looks like you got surgery and it went well and your sleep is getting better without CPAP? Great story. I hope you keep feeling better. I am sleeping fine now without CPAP but I can tell I need it, been 2 weeks without my machine, and during the day ...

Re: 3 years of CPAP
I am wondering if Laurie and Janice should try to change their machines to a more advanced one such as the S9 Autoset, and use it in the APAP mode? My insurance wont cover a machine change yet, so unless my Dr pushes for that I have to stay with what I have for 2 more yrs, But we will see what she ...

Laurie .....I am 7 years on C-PAP, and I am having similar problems.....I go in for another sleep study Monday night. The daytime sleepiness has just been awful!!! Re: 3 years of CPAP
Sorry it took so long for me to reply had a busy week... so I slept fine at the overnight study, woke up at 635am, had 5 naps every 2 hours last one was at 435.. LONG day! Anyway, I was fine with keeping myself awake all day, but when it was nap time the tech would ask me on a scale of 1-6 how tired...

3 years of CPAP
Been a VERY long time since I have posted on here... has anyone that's been on CPAP for several years, end up having to go for a 24 hour sleep study? Over the past year I have been extremely tired again, did a 3 week trial on a Bi pap machine, which seemed to be fine but still exhausted. All my numb...

Re: Teeth pulled... Quick question
Thanks everyone ... I didn't sleep great, but I have had no pain since the numbness wore off yesterday, so I dunno if this Dentist was just really good at pulling teeth or if I have a high tolerance for pain lol... I kept waking up with a dry mouth, I taped it shut but I knew that my face kept blowi...
