Re: depression meds for my fatigue
Welcome to my world I've been on cpap since Nov 09. My leak rate is a little high but my AHI is 1.5 to 2 I don't fall asleep at stop lights any longer but am also very fatigued. My PCP ran me through all the test he could do and they did find an 85% blocked right coronary artery. Now I have a stent....

Re: No worries about power outages!
I live in the Pacific Northwest and will lose power maybe one a year for a short period. We did lose power one time due to a snow and ice storm for about a week. I was not on CPAP at that time. We live in the country so I purchased a Honda generator 2000 watt because I need power where there is none...

Re: Good Numbers, Good Sleep, STILL Tired?
If your CPAP therapy is """treated"""" and you still feel tired/fatiuge it's possible you could be experiencing EDS (excessive daytime sleepiness). This is something a small number of apnea suffers can have, I know, I'm one of them. See your Dr. he/she can help. Good Luck

Re: OT: Is it okay to use both Zicam and zinc lozenges?
I was a true believer in Zicam about 5 years ago. Used it as directed 3 days max, then got one of the worst colds i'd ever had, lost my taste and smell during the cold which is usual. Then one day my wife said " don't these flowers smell good" I could not smell them, then i noticed I could not smell...

Re: much more fatigued w/CPAP, just prescribed Nuvigil
Thanks, we'll see! I'm on the fourth day I think, yesterday my brain felt a bit fiery or something, and at the end of the day I had a headache, not terrible though. I had had a short night of sleep, and I'd had two servings of caffeine so I'm not sure if it was the med. I think perhaps I was not as...

Re: much more fatigued w/CPAP, just prescribed Nuvigil
Per my DR. a small percentage of us with even "treated" OSA will still experiance EDS. I am in that small percentage I was also put on nuvigil and after one week I could not take it any longer. I crashed really bad after 4-5 hours and had bad headaches. Now we are trying Ritalin 10mg 2 x day. The pr...

Re: Nail beds, sleep apnea and the heart
I guess I thought the ultrasound was part of a stress test, at least that's what they did with me. One before and one after. Are heart conditions in your family???

Re: Nail beds, sleep apnea and the heart
Can't help ya with the nail beds. Have you had a stress test? My PCP sent me in for one because even with CPAP I was still tired and fatigued. The test went well but a carido Dr. saw something abnormal with the ultra sound. One week later I went in for an angioplasty sp and they found my right coron...
