Can I make a suggestion - if not for you then for anyone else possibly contemplating the same thing? To make a pinhole in the tube, string something (thread, etc.) through it and bring it out with a ... button or something on the end to pull on if for any reason at all you (or someone nearby) want t...

Hi, just to add more fuel here... I recently tried the FP 432 FF (the new one) and it's wonderful! There is a nice fat pad of very airy foam between you and the mask frame so you don't feel a thing (and neither does your nose). If you can get fitted for one, give it a try.

Ric - I have to say I think your answer was rather irresponsible here. Telling someone not to go to the ER (or at least their MD) is not smart when they could have e.g. very high blood pressure, or something else that should be seen to. Of course, if he's taking Niacin, that's the first thing to cut...

I believe it only holds 96 hrs (4 days) of information. I don't know if you have to erase it to go to the next phase or not, but why not ask Puritan Bennett (they have a website).

Hi, I don't know how long your hose is (considering it goes to the ceiling, the headboard and then to you!), but you can certainly get hoses in lengths from 2-3' and up if you want.

Hi, nice to meet you! I think you are asking a question that can only be answered by doctors who have conducted research studies on 'percentages' of people who have better functional outcomes after stroke if they are put on CPAP. This forum is for people (not doctors) who are diagnosed with OSA(HS) ...

Respironics Comfort Select isn't bad if you're very careful with it - the adjustment bar (forehead to nose) comes apart easily, though you can put it back together easily too.

Another take on the new FP 432 FF mask!

Well, a funny thing happened last night. I got a size small and medium of the new 432 FF mask to try out yesterday. I quickly determined that the medium wouldn't work because, while it fit under my chin properly (as it should), I had huge 'eye' leaks. So I tried the small size, and found it too shor...

Marvin, did you write that blog? Possibly you're correct in that on a broader scale of sleep disorders women may show up in higher numbers, but as far as OSA itself goes, men are statistically (research proven) much more likely to suffer.

I would take that study that found more centrals on BiPAP with a grain of salt, though it may be completely valid. It's only one study, and until more come out with similar results, I wouldn't necessarily worry a whole lot, but secondly, if you read the 'Methods' section, it's interesting to see tha...

Hi, I think that all things considered, it would be a very good idea to wait until after your surgery, or at least another talk with your MD, to ask advice from people who are not MD's and who don't know you 'physically'. This is a great forum for sleep issues, but you have cardiac ones as well, and...

Ask your MD what to do - he'll have forms, etc. with appropriate questions, and if necessary, may be able to add a note of his own regarding the issue. You shouldn't be expected to 'explain' it to the insce. people.

Hi, and I'm so glad you've come to the forum and know you're not alone (why does that make such a difference ?! One thing has struck me in your two notes - that not only are you dealing with learning about OSA and CPAP, but I think your chronic fatigue and anxiety may have tipped you into a little r...
