Re: How do I open my machine?
So, here's a thought.. get your neighbor to check the voltages *while the machine is plugged in*... I've seen a lot of power supplies fail in such a way that they give out fine voltage without any load, but as soon as you plug them in, they don't work. I'll do that IF I can get the damned machine b...

Re: How do I open my machine?
Thanks for the link, LSAT. That's the outfit I contacted and got no reply from a few weeks ago. I called again just now and left another message. We'll see if they bother to call me back this time.

Re: How do I open my machine?
My suggestion is to send it in to a professional repair service. As you know better than I do, ASVs are **expensive**. So mucking about with their electronics doesn't make a lot of sense unless you have experience with in-circuit diagnostics and surface mount component soldering or have access to r...

Re: How do I open my machine?
Thanks, PR. Just knowing what it's called is helpful. I have a T15 drill bit, and I was able to use it to remove the two long screws and open the machine. I've examined the circuit board and don't see anything that looks fried or blown out; all of the connections appear to be intact. I also t...

How do I open my machine?
Hi again. As I previously posted, the machine noted in my signature got fried by lightning a few weeks ago. I've been using my backup "tank" ASV since then, but it's not treating my apnea as well. (I've nodded out a few times during the day.) I no longer own the card reader needed for the tank, so I...

Re: Has anyone switched from PR to Resmed?
There was an AirCurve 10 ASV on EBay couple of weeks ago and someone snatched it up before the EBay police pulled the listing. Less than 100 hours and buy it now price at 475. If I had spotted it I would have bought it but someone else spotted it first. If I find a screaming hot deal like that and ...

Re: Has anyone switched from PR to Resmed?
If I needed a reminder about how ridiculous dealing with a DME is, I got it this morning. I'm usually a fighter, but the past two years have worn me down, and I just don't have it in me to get through their bureaucratic bullshit. I checked secondwind's offerings, but even their used ASVs are ...

Re: Has anyone switched from PR to Resmed?
Thanks for the replies. It sounds like I should give the Resmed a try.
It'll be interesting to see how different it feels and whether it offers more effective therapy than I'm accustomed to (which has certainly been adequate). The potential for even better therapy is very appealing.

Has anyone switched from PR to Resmed?
Looking for opinions from anyone who's switched from a PR machine to a Resmed. I've used PR machines for 11 years now and am not unhappy with my therapy. But I need a new ASV and am curious about the differences between the two. (Not sure it makes sense to change horses in the middle of the stream, ...

Re: Is my machine toast?
Just an update: My neighbor has a power meter and offered to test my equipment for me yesterday. He happened to be outside watching the storm that night and said the last lightning strike was very close to my house. Turns out the power cord and the power supply are okay, but the machine is f...

Re: Is my machine toast?
well, THAT sucks! :( this is maybe a stupid question, but have your tried plugging the machine into a known working outlet? as to repairs, there is a place online- https://acbio.com/ i haven't used it, but i think pugsy and others here have. good luck! Yes, it does suck! Not a stupid question...
