Re: FX pillow mask

If you go up to chunkyfrog's post, his equipment list has a link to the mask and you may see where you have an assembly error. I think you have a twist in the straps as there is no top and bottom label. Give the photos a try.

Re: I have pneumonia

Remember you didn't get pneumonia from your machine, you got it from a germ that got in to your chest and like the warm damp place.

USE that machine.

God luck for a speedy recovery.

Re: Does anyone use Pur Sleep?

I've used Bret's stuff for years now. I order about 20 bottles at a time including all the sleep candy ones and then about the same number of "regular" scents. I rotate the bottles through a sequence. I use a new one every couple of nights. When I finish a bottle, I keep going with the others until ...

Re: Cpap and sleep aids?

Kotengu, Basically, you have to find out what you need to make this PITA therapy work for you. I see that you are new to the forum so I suspect that you are new to CPAP too. You'll need to consider if any of the following are causing you discomfort and find a fix: 1. I have used about 8 masks over t...

Re: sore throat after missing CPAP tx one night

I made a business trip to CA last summer and managed to not pack my mask. I called CPAP.COM and got one next day air, but I was miserable all night. I searched the room high and low looking for something I could use to pressurize my head. No luck, I was as useful as hammered doggy doo doo the next d...

Re: Still Trying to be compliant after 3 yrs Is APAP an option?

Hello Debbie, This is just my $0.02 and you may find it worth less than that. however. Obviously your ear and stomach problems are a huge part of your discomfort. You need to talk with your doctor about both of those problems. I have found that I am most comfortable with a steady pressure. No Ramp, ...

Re: Anyone know anything about CPAP Helmets?

Interesting approach, which I have thought about several times, but have never tried out. The problem it would seem is under loss of fan, you are so loosely coupled to the mask that your air quality would go down without you realizing it was happening. It looks to me like these are intended for atte...

Re: I'm at a complete loss as to what to do next

I don't know any specifics about your case or your mask, but, some people have mentioned that they benefit from taking extra care to remove facial oils from their face and mask sealing edges before retiring. This may help explain varying results. Also, some masks work better with less strap tension....

Re: Swift FX

I have three suggestions: 1. I use chap-stick to assist the seal on the nose. 2. You may need to put some pressure on the mask around the nose area to change its shape just a bit to get the best seal. Once the seal is established, it seems to hold better this way. 3. Loose straps are usually better ...

Re: 40 apnea episodes an hour?

Normal respiration rate is about 12 / minute so there are 720 breaths taken in an hour. If 40 of those breaths don't take place, that's 5.5% of your breathing which results on heavy stress on your body rather than just blood oxygenation which is also lowered. They say that less than 5 is "normal", b...

Re: Six months of misery; what should I tell my Dr.?

I may get some disagreement from this statement, BUT, if you feel that you are being suffocated when you are just laying there trying to breathe normally, then you are being suffocated by a machine pressure setting which is too low. There is one other issue besides those mentioned above which is the...

Veterans Day information

Because I have benefited for over two years now because someone else took the time to post on this subject. I'll do the same in hope of providing benefit to others. The VA is providing care and support for veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange in Viet Nam and elsewhere. Here's a link to the late...

Re: switched to Auto - exhausted today! help!

I have had a machine capable of APAP or CPAP operation from the get go and have found I don't do as well even on a tight range as I do on the proper steady state pressure. Now, I do from time to time switch to APAP and re-titrate myself so I began treatment at 12 cm and am now at 16 cm H2O. My perso...

Re: OT: Sleep Lab Humor

My mother tells the story that when she went for her first titration many years ago, she warned the tech. that she would be calling often to be unhooked so that she could answer the many calls of nature. Mom woke up when the tech. entered the room and said "that was good timing, I told you there wou...

Trip from __LL and relief from CPAP.com

Maybe somebody will be well served with this story. Last week I made a routine business trip to the Sacramento area. The routine was shattered when the flight attendant demonstrated the oxygen mask. I said to myself, 'that would make a lousy CPAP mask', OH CRAP. I have two machines, one in the bedro...
