Re: My Letter of Appeal to the Health Insurance Company

Yet instead, we ended up with a healthcare proposal that requires every adult in America to buy from them. Talk about the fox guarding the henhouse

Re: Hose Covers?

I bought a SnuggleHose brand and while it does the job, I ended up wishing I'd gotten one from PadACheek. Her fleece is much softer and nicer, and the choice of colors and patterns is great. I feel as if the SnuggleHose made my hose heavy and bulky, too.

Re: Hi and a question about breathing please.

If I breathe through my mouth when using a FFM, it makes my mouth excruciatingly dry, even though the CPAP therapy still works. If I have a cold, of course there's not much choice, but otherwise, I always try to keep my mouth closed.

Re: Mask leaks around edges

I like this Q-tip idea. I've always had problems with eye leaks with my Quattro, to the extent that I take a handkerchief to bed and tuck it behind the little bridge between the forehead support and the mask so it will lie across my eyes and shield them from the air (tried eye masks but found them t...

Re: Eating the Low-Carb Way: your place to share

Has anyone tried freezing the "meatza" once it's finished? I realize I could simply make it smaller, but it looks like it might make a good "heat 'n' eat" meal. That's one thing I'm always on the lookout for with low carb, since using whole foods means cooking just about everything from scratch. If ...

Re: How many hours should CPAP be worn per night?

It's not like you can save up 4 hours of credit and then use them for the next 4 hours. Sleeping with CPAP is an all or nothing proposition: Either it's on and you're getting the benefits, or it's off and you're not. Some use is better than none, I suppose, but it sure won't provide optimal health b...

Re: Eating the Low-Carb Way: your place to share

Thanks to both of you. It was more curiosity for me, like "is this something I have to pay attention to?" I'm not going to count anything. New question: DS (and other low-carbers) - do you ever "fall off the wagon?" Or even deliberately eat something not in your normal eating plan? I do sometimes, ...

Re: Eating the Low-Carb Way: your place to share

I find the easiest way to calculate this is by using a program called FitDay. It's available free online (http://www.fitday.com) or, if you want to download it, once you join online you can download a copy for $19.00. You can enter food, activity, mood log, etc., and it returns daily averages for al...

Re: Who has went without their machine?

I know what you mean. I had to go without mine for just one night, and it was awful. It really made me appreciate how much better it is with CPAP, despite masks, hoses, machines, and all.

Re: Requesting BASIC diet/weightloss advice and support

Just an FYI, there's a low-carb forum I've been a member of for a long time that has lots of good recipes posted. It's http://www.lowcarbeating.com. The forum, itself, isn't nearly as active as this one, but the recipes section is terrific, and the forum is a good one -- just kind of quiet a lot of ...

Re: cpapauction.com prices too good to be true???

Catnap what I did for my Flex plan was to print out the auction page where I won and then printed out the paypal page where it showed I paid for the purchase. I didn't have a problem getting reimbursed this way and the seller didn't have to do anything. The flex plan even paid the portion that was ...

Re: cpapauction.com prices too good to be true???

I've bought three masks and a machine from cpapauction.com with no problems, all items exactly as represented. The closest I've gotten to a problem is having asked one seller to include a receipt (so I could turn it in for my FSA), which didn't happen. I've had more than 400 transactions on eBay wit...

Re: HIGH Praise to my DME!!!!

That IS a great story! You're right, we get so focused on the DMEs who seem to be in it only for the money -- BIG money -- that it's easy to forget that some are actually trying to do a good job to take care of their clients. Very refreshing to hear! I can imagine the relief you felt; my company cha...
