Re: Need Help From Those Who Know

Well, this should come as no surprise ... Aenta just informed me of the following "A CPAP machine is for rental only, it can not be purchased under your plan." Certainly, this was NOT what I was told when first getting my CPAP, nor what I expected. However...such is life ... So, I will be marching m...

Re: Need Help From Those Who Know

Thank you for your replies. I seem to be like a dog chasing it's tail trying to get Aetna to provide me with their policies directly relating to the rental / purchase of my cpap equipment. I was "told" from both Apria and Aetna at the beginning of this saga that the machine would be a rental for the...

Need Help From Those Who Know

Will try and keep this short and sweet. When first diagnosed with OSA & I went thru' Apria was was given a bottom of the line machine which I "owned" after 13 months of rental. I found this board shortly into my therapy, learned a lot and ending up buying an APAP outright. The cheap Apria machine ha...

Anyone using the Golife for Women?

I've been using the Swift LT for the past 2 1/2 years and for the last month or so have NOT been able to get a good seal in spite of having new headgear & nasal pillows. I've tried every idea under the sun and my leak rates are off the chart. I'm thinking it's time to change to a new mask. I have th...

Re: What does E48 means?

Tried to do a Google search for you and came up with nothing. Appears you have to contact Fishel & Paykel (or your DME) to find out what the code means.
Here's the USA phone number for Fishel & Paykel.

Re: Dr.'s office called, wants follow-up, might not go

You might consider calling Tricare and asking about their requirements for cpap compliance and continued coverage for masks, supplies, etc. I have Aetna and also "purchased" my machine at 13 months. During that time, neither Aetna or the DME ever inquired about my compliance. I did follow up with th...

Re: M Series Auto w/ AFEX Whistling and It's NOT Dixie

The hose is brand new - doubled checked it just in case - and my mask is sealing great - 0 leaks. Last night, 5-10 minutes after masking up I leaned into the machine and the "whistle" sounded as if it was coming from within the machine it's self. My husband also heard it again when he woke up this m...

M Series Auto w/ AFEX Whistling and It's NOT Dixie

My M-Series has started whistling and it's driving me crazy. Most nights it starts within minutes of putting my mask on and I have no idea how long it continues. I wake up (briefly) several times during the course of the evening and don't notice it at those times. However, this morning my husband wo...

Re: Carry On Bags $30 each!!!

Per CNN online news:
Spirit Airlines announced Tuesday that it will charge its customers $20 to $45 for items they place in the overhead bins.

The cost depends on whether passengers are members of the airline's ultra-low fare club and whether they "pre-reserve" their carry-on bag in advance.

Re: Occasional burning nostrils

Kenny, I also use the Swift LT and have experienced the exact same problem. The "burning" wakes me from a sound sleep and I have to remove the mask for a few minutes. It seems to be a random occurence and each time it's happened to me I have turned the humidifier up a notch. I'm not sure what causes...
