Re: DeVilbiss SmartLink Desktop 2.5.5.1 issues

I hadn't used SmartLink since November....but when I tried to start it yesterday...it threw this error. I tried running the updater, which updated it 2.5.5.1, but that didn't fix the problem. I then tried a bunch of other things....repair installs of the SQL bit, repair installs of .net, etc. ... no...

Re: Who has or had trouble with focusing?

Do you use glasses or other vision correction now? Perhaps your prescription has changed. I'm wondering if now that I've been finally sleeping really well (since August), if that has caused my vision to suddenly improve. For the last few years my prescription was steady at OD -5.50 -0.75 050 +1.50 O...

Re: Tap Pap - will anyone be purchasing this to give it a try?

And, I was thinking that when I'm eligible to get a new mask from DME that I was going to try asking for the CPAP Pro, because I think I've had it with my headgear issues... Though Tap Pap might be more what I want...since I route hose over my head normally... Though since Return Insurance is includ...

Re: Risks of frequent travel with CPAP

I suppose some day, I should replace the hose in my travel bag....because its still the original one I put in there 2.5 years ago when I took my first trip with CPAP. Though now that the old CPAP is my travel machine, I probably should also remember to replace the filter now and then. They used to r...

Re: Kill-A-Watt for DC?

But, the engineerd that I am...wants to track accurate nightly Ah usage of my autoCPAP over the long term. Where's it list what kind of connector the machine is using....I can't find my calipers. I suppose I could whip up some cables with powerpoles and....except I think my powerpole crimper grew fe...

Re: Increased lung capacity?

One of the supposed signs of sleep apnea (in children) is a sunken chest. Well, I've had a sunken chest all my life....until recently....which seems to suggest that I might have had sleep apnea all my life. I don't know about increased lung capacity though....but my heart murmur went away (doc says ...

Re: The effect of drugs on sleep quality and architecture

Hmmm, I hadn't thought to look to see if there were anything other drugs (than xyrem) that improve stage 3/4 sleep (first study I had low amounts of both...low stage 3, no stage 4...summary keeps saying this suggests sleep apnea, but in second study it noted that I had 0 AHI on CPAP...and from that ...

Re: Wrist restraint to keep me on side....

I had actually wondered about full restraints in bed....that would work for a guy living alone.... Though since new sleep doc put me on Ropinirole, things have become less of a problem. Though I hear they use weighted blankets on kids with autism these days....wonder if I could get one for myself (t...

Kill-A-Watt for DC?

Anybody know of a kill-a-watt like product, but for DC....ideally one that happens to be the inline plug for CPAPs?

I'd really like to know exactly what my machine is drawing....

Re: Nuvigil side effects 250 mg

He put you straight out on 250mg...the maximum dose? Hmmm. It is sold in 3 sizes...50mg, 150mg and 250mg. My sleep doc only put me on 150mg....doesn't do enough in the morning, but at least I'm not on the roller coaster that crashes at 3pm (boss says my emails sound drunk after about 3:30) and I wor...

Re: Be The Match : )

I finally decided I had to ask why sleep apnea disqualified...since 80% of bone marrow collection is done using apheresis, and my OSA didn't disqualify me from plateletapheresis....(though it being too soon after a regular blood donation did...) I emailed bethematch@ndmp.org, and got this response.....

Yay...maybe I can get a new mask now.

My DME finally submitted to insurance that I didn't get a new mask like they had told it back in April (but I didn't get a new mask....they still haven't called me about the mask I had asked about)....so maybe I don't have to wait until the end of next month to try getting a new mask through insuran...

Re: Sleeping pills with cpap

I'm currently on Lunesta (3mg).... wish I had more or something....that would help me get to sleep and not wake up. The Lunesta is just making it so that I get back to sleep sooner when I do wake during the night... I started with Ambien, and then Remeron....and then 1mg Lunesta and then 2mg...to no...

Re: Apnea solutions for someone off the charts?

BiPAPs are capable of much higher pressure (I've heard as high as 40cm), but usually insurance requires you to 'fail' CPAP first.

Re: Free Mask Loan Program

I may have to give this a shot....give up the 5 months I've been waiting for my DME to call me about a new mask. Though did finally get refund of the mask I had returned last go....also took months and months the time before that. My EasyLife is getting kind of old....though I have replaced the head...
