Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I have been on CPAP for 5 years. I only sleep with the machine and take it wherever I go. I am relatively young so it is a bit odd when I meet someone new. I am now outperforming in my job as a software developer. I have a found new strengths and skills that I thought I never had: speaking in public...

missing a part but still using the Res Med Elite 2
I am using the Res-Med Elite2 without the bluish-transparent knob in the back that covers the filter. Somehow that part got lost. Is this dangerous?

Re: How do you know if you're sleeping well?
It took me about 2 months to get accustomed to the mask and machine; And about a full year before I could notice an improvement in my quality of life. Over time, I discovered small things that helped get my numbers down: I don't use the water chamber of the machine, I only drink decaf coffee, I take...

One Year on CPAP
Hi, I am writing this to give an insight of my personal experience. It's important to state that I am not a doctor nor an expert and that every experience is different. I have now been a year on CPAP and here's how it has worked out for me. I was diagnosed with Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome. It's...

Re: Using your North American CPAP in Europe
Yes, I just needed a simple adapter with two round pins that fits into one hand, and just enables the plug of the machine to fit into the round holes of the wall sockets (see http://www.kropla.com/!c.htm). The CPAP machine adjusts itself to the countries voltage. The country BTW is Germany. I don't ...

It says in the back

DC: 12V,2.5 A

Christopher

resMed Mirage quattro cushion tear
Hello, I recently replaced the cushion of the resmed quattro mask I am using because it teared during the night. The replacement also teared yesterday, after no less than one month's use. At $ 67 a replacement, the cushion does not come cheap. I usualy get into the habit of washing the mask right be...

Re: don't worry to much about AHI and AI
By the way, I do have sleep apnea or Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome to be exact and it's taken a serious toll. I too have to sleep with this hose every night. I am actually glad I have caught it this early. My father waited 30 years and he now has serious heart problems as a result, not too mentio...

Re: don't worry to much about AHI and AI
Just passing on what the doctor told me. I thought it would be useful. I actually mentioned that my current job makes the implementation of these rules difficult. I won't repeat what his response was, but I will say that I had a first job interview in a long time, today...Less pay, my health is too ...

Re: don't worry to much about AHI and AI
>However I do suggest you get (rent?) a recording oximeter and use it to confirm your belief that your O2 levels are OK. That's one thing I was wondering, however the sleep doctor did not think it was necessary. But I will certainly check this on my own. Not sure if I should test O2 levels with or w...

Re: don't worry to much about AHI and AI
>Since you are not suffering from OSA, it would have been useful to state that right up front. As I mentioned in my original post, I suffer from a mild form of sleep apnea that does not affect my blood saturation level. The exact term is Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome and it's bad. It requires a C...
